A few photos from my seminar & workshop on analogue avatar-making for virtual worlds, for fellow researchers during the research retreat of the Genk Campus of LUCA School of Arts last month in Liege.
It was a great opportunity to explore how hands-on techniques and embodied experience can inform the creation of identities in digital environments.

What if the sea could sound like healing?
This immersive VR artwork is a luminous tribute to Pinna Nobilis โ once a silent sanctuary on the seabed of Alonissos, now on the brink of extinction. Combining scans of real underwater remains, hydrophone recordings, and generative animations, the piece reimagines the shell as alive again โ filled with echoes, light, and possibility.
Rooted in scientific insight and artistic intuition, itโs a speculative invitation to listen differently, and to dream of regeneration through resonance.

The "Death of the Stick Figure" is a series of experimental works that challenges how bodies are represented in motion capture systems. For this, I created customised skeletons and rigged them in different geometries open to various associations. This rethinking of the skeleton is a question on power, on data authorship, on the normativity of the captured and represented bodies in digital realms. Ultimately, it is a celebration of the performing body and a search for alternative meanings in contemporary visual imagery.
This particular experiment stems from an exercise called Plastiques, a segmentation exercise drawn from mime traditions. Here, a body partโin this case, the shoulderโis segmented, and the performer tries to create a continuous flow where the part channels energy to the rest of the body.

Ars Electronica last week was an absolute blast! I had the chance to show my work Infinitesimal among some amazing artworks and people!
Infinitesimal uses computer graphics to explore the gaps in scientific imaging by imagining what movement might mean at the nanoscale, departing from three images characterized during my time at Fraunhofer ENAS.
