Hallo, ich bin Martje – und ich freue mich, dass du hier bist.
Ich lebe mit meinem Mann und unseren drei Kindern in Wiesbaden. Wenn ich nicht gerade in meiner Arbeit als Förderschullehrerin mit wunderbaren, besonderen Kindern unterwegs bin, findest du mich oft mit Stricknadeln in der Hand, einen Faden Natur zwischen den Fingern.
Das Stricken ist für mich mehr als ein Handwerk – es ist ein Innehalten. Ein Raum, in dem Erinnerungen, Gedanken und leise Geschichten entstehen.
Ich liebe natürliche Materialien, gedeckte Farben und Wolle, die noch nach Weide duftet.
Hier teile ich meine Strickstücke – und das, was zwischen den Maschen liegt: Gedanken, Gefühle, Erinnerungen.

Hello, I’m Martje – and I’m glad you’re here.
I live in Wiesbaden with my husband and our three children. When I’m not working as a special needs teacher with wonderful, special children, you’ll often find me with knitting needles in hand, a thread of nature between my fingers.
For me, knitting is more than a craft – it’s a pause. A space where memories, thoughts, and quiet stories emerge.
I love natural materials, muted colors, and wool that still smells of pasture.

Es gibt nichts Schöneres für mich, als für meine Kinder zu stricken.
Masche für Masche entsteht mehr als nur ein Strickstück — es ist Wärme, Geborgenheit und ein kleines Stück Liebe zum Anziehen.
Mein Sohn trägt meine gestrickten Sachen so selbstverständlich und gerne, und jedes Mal macht es mich so glücklich, ihn darin zu sehen.
Die #frolictunic von @bmandarines habe ich aus einem Strang #plötulopi und #einband @istexlopi gestrickt! Den Pullover habe ich nicht zum letzten Mal gestrickt, mein Mittlerer wünscht ihn sich auch und hat sich schon passende Wolle ausgesucht.

My son wears my knitted things so naturally and happily, and it makes me so happy every time I see him in them.
I knitted the #frolictunic by @bmandarines from one skein of plötulopi and einband @istexlopi ! I’ll definitely be knitting this sweater again; my middle one wants one too and has already chosen some suitable yarn
Nothing calms me more in times when everything is moving too fast…

Strickstücke sind so wertvoll für mich, weil so viel in ihnen steckt, was von außen nicht sichtbar ist:
Da ist die Wolle meiner Lieblingsschafe, die jedes Jahr auf der Herzensinsel auf mich warten. Ihre Wolle, in ganz geringer Menge gesponnen in einer kleinen schwedischen Spinnerei. Danach von Vera, einer Künstlerin an den Farbtöpfen, gefärbt in meiner liebsten Pflanzenfarbe.
Gestrickt in vielen Stunden, an unterschiedlichen Orten, verbunden mit Erlebnissen und Erinnerungen. 🤎

Knitted pieces are so precious to me because they contain so much that isn’t visible from the outside: the wool of my favorite sheep, who wait for me every year on my beloved island. The wool spun in a small Swedish mill. Then, by Vera, an artist at the dye pots, dyed with my favorite plant-based dye.
Knitted over many hours, in different places, connected with experiences and memories.

Wenn man mehrere Projekte gleichzeitig strickt ist das wunderbar, denn für jedes Gefühl, jede Gegebenheit, jede Stimmung und jede Gelegenheit habe ich „mein“ Projekt. Für mich ist es aktuell genau richtig so. Der Nachteil ist allerdings, dass es immer eine Weile dauert, bis die Projekte fertig werden.
Den #dahliacardiganmini @leneholmesamsoe hat sich meine Tochter von mir gewünscht. Die Farbe stand schnell fest und sie hat in meinem Vorrat das passende Garn gesucht- und ein tolles Merinogarn von @studiosolasndd gefunden.
Auf dem Foto trägt sie unter dem Cardigan ihr Lieblingskleid, die #ennybluskidsdk @appelbanne aus #organicsock @studiosolasndd .

Knitting several projects at once is wonderful, because I have „my“ project for every feeling, every situation, every mood, and every occasion. It’s just right for me right now. The downside, however, is that it always takes a while for the projects to be finished.
My daughter wished for #dahliacardiganmini @leneholmesamsoe . She quickly decided on the color, and she searched my stash for the perfect yarn—and found a fantastic merino yarn from @studiosolasndd .

Als ich damals in meine erste #sidesvans hineinschlüpfte, wollte ich sie einfach nie wieder ausziehen. Und ich habe etwas gemacht, was ich vorher wirklich noch nie gemacht habe: Ich habe das gleiche Design sofort nochmal angeschlagen.
Kein Bewähren, kein Abwarten, kein Liebgewinnen- das brauchte es alles nicht.
Und auch jetzt kribbelt es mir wieder in den Fingern… Sind nicht aller guten Dinge drei?

When I first slipped into my #sidesvans, I simply never wanted to take them off again. And I did something I’d never done before: I immediately cast on the same design again.
No trial and error, no waiting, no growing fond of— none of that was necessary.
And now my fingers are itching to knit another one… Isn’t the third time’s the charm?

Ich habe noch keinen anderen Pullover häufiger gestrickt als den #nutidenfamilysweater @ravijennaknits aus #nutidenyarn @honerocheir
Und es fehlen sogar noch zwei weitere um unsere Family Sweater komplett zu machen.
Die Farben hat sich mein Großer selbst ausgesucht und er hat eine hervorragende Wahl getroffen, wie ich finde.
Der Pullover ist gerade noch rechtzeitig fertig geworden zu seinem großen Tag- seinem besonderen Tag.

I’ve never knitted another sweater more often than the #nutidenfamilysweater @ravijennaknits from #nutidenyarn @honerocheir .
And we still need two more to complete our family sweater collection.
My eldest chose the colors himself, and I think he made an excellent choice.
The sweater was finished just in time for his big day—his special day.

Hier kommt alles zusammen, was ich liebe:
ein wunderschönes Westendesign mit dezentem Colorwork aus rustikalem ungesponnenem Garn, welches durch die natürlichen Farben einen harmonischen und weichen Kontrast bildet. Und nicht zuletzt die kleinen handgemachten Holzknöpfe.
Ich habe sie in den Raunächten gestrickt und sie wird mich viel begleiten im kommenden Jahr- und darüber hinaus.

This vest brings together everything I love: a beautiful design with subtle colorwork, rustic unspun yarn whose natural colors create a harmonious and soft contrast, and last but not least, the small handmade wooden buttons.

•Konfettiweste Schmetterling•
Hier ist sie nun, die dritte #konfettiwestekids für mein Mädchen. Auch beim dritten Mal hatte ich so viel Spaß die Weste von @kleinigkeitenliebe zu stricken und mit Motiven aus dem Buch #stickenaufstrick von @ku.ni.ber.ta zu besticken.
Meine Tochter hat sich die Schmetterlinge selbst ausgesucht und auch die Farben festgelegt. Gestickt habe ich die Schmetterlinge mit den Gotland-Minis aus dem Adventskalender von @studiosolasndd . Für die Weste habe ich das Garn #puretweed von @erikaknightyarns gewählt.
Ich freue mich schon darauf, die drei Räuber im Frühjahr in ihren Westen draußen umherstreifen zu sehen.

Here it is, the third konfettiwestekids for my little girl.
I had so much fun knitting this vest from @kleinigkeitenliebe and embroidering it with motifs from the book #embroideryonknits by @ku.ni.ber.ta .
My daughter chose the butterflies herself and also selected the colors. I stitched the butterflies with the Gotland Minis from the advent calendar by @studiosolasndd . For the vest I chose the puretweed @erikaknightyarns .
I’m already looking forward to seeing the three little robbers roaming around outside in their vests this spring.

Über diese Stulpen bin ich gestolpert. Das passiert mir manchmal, dass etwas meinen Weg kreuzt und ich das Gefühl habe, es hat sich mir fast absichtlich in den Weg gelegt. Ich habe schon etwas länger darüber nachgedacht, mir Stulpen zu stricken, denn seit ich Probleme mit den Gelenken habe, habe ich gespürt, dass es mir gut tut, wenn ich sie warm halte.
Die Stulpen von @letesknits habe ich aus #coburgerfuchswolle von @estherconstanze gestrickt. Bei ihr findet man viele weitere heimische Schafrassen. Ich liebe Esthers Garne und die Verbindung, die wir vor allem durch unsere Liebe zum Coburger Fuchsschaf haben.🐑

I stumbled across these gloves. Sometimes it happens that something crosses my path and I feel like it almost deliberately put itself in my way. I’d been looking for gloves for a while because, since I’ve had joint problems, I’ve noticed that keeping my joints warm is really good for me.
I knitted these gloves from @letesknits using #coburgerfuchswolle yarn from @estherconstanze . She also has yarns from many other local sheep. I love Esther’s yarns and the connection we have, especially through our love for the Coburg Fuchs. 🐑

Ich stricke unheimlich gerne für meine Lieben. Es ist Ausdruck meiner Zuneigung.
Diesen Schal hat sich meine Kleinste gewünscht und ich habe ihn komplett nach ihren Vorstellungen umgesetzt. Sie hat die Art des Schals und das Muster gewählt, die Wolle und Farbe von @abenaia_yarn ausgesucht und sich nach endlosem blättern in @ku.ni.ber.tas Buch #stickenaufstrick für ein Blumenmotiv entschieden. Ganz schnell hatte sie die für sie passenden Farben gefunden, gestickt ist das Motiv mit den Ministrängen aus dem diesjährigen Adventskalender von @studiosolasndd .
Am häufigsten stricke ich für meine Kinder und ich finde es so unheimlich schön, welch genaue Vorstellungen in ihren Köpfen wohnen und wieviel Wertschätzung sie für gestricktes haben.

I absolutely love knitting for my loved ones. I never knit for money, but always out of affection.
My youngest daughter wanted this scarf, and I made it exactly as she envisioned it. She chose the style of scarf and the pattern, selected the yarn and color from @abenaia_yarn , and after endlessly flipping through Judit’s book #embroideryonknits decided on a floral motif. She quickly found the perfect colors for her, and the design is stitched with the mini skeins from this year’s advent calendar by @studiosolasndd .
I knit most often for my children, and I find it so incredibly beautiful how precise their ideas are and how much they appreciate knitted items.
