Last Thursday, August 18, 2022, my mother became an American Citizen. She pushed us through a xenophobic post-9/11 America and now, continues to have faith in this country despite the mess. Proud, very proud of her.

RIP Robert Frank — a man whose poetic and incisive images of America captured the complexity of it. his critique was made with love and concern yet his photos raised a middle finger to everything before it and still stands upright as proof of its brilliance. and as i reflect on what this man has contributed to us, i am also eternally grateful for his influence on me. 📷: @katygrannan
