The Reference studio has partnered with AE again to power their biggest fall launch yet. Our CGI billboard featuring Sydney Sweeney is live today and across the country in the coming weeks.

Sweeney will be the face of the print campaign and appear in all video content. A major part of the campaign, titled “Sydney Sweeney Has Great Jeans,” will be a 3D billboard in Times Square. “It is going to be so eye-catching. I mean, think about the ‘It’ girl of the moment reaching down into Times Square, pointing to people in Times Square, showing off her jeans in Times Square in a 3D billboard. It’s really going to stop people,” he said. The billboard is 20 stories high.

R&D for DKNY project with @_reference 🎈

This project consisted of a series of FOOH videos featuring the new DKNY heart logo in a balloon shape.
We explored various ways the balloon could look and how we could construct the logo as a balloon. I primarily worked on the spots for NYC, Berlin, and Milan. I had a great time building different setups to inflate, deflate, and transform the shapes. I learned so much about topology and vellum during this project. Thank you guys again for this amazing opportunity! @cdandrea_@incogneido and @joshua_taylor_earley for the SFX in the final video

Another one from the series of four films for Tiffany that I worked on with the amazing team at @_reference last year. For this, I handled the rose shots and the blackcurrant asset. The rose is such a classic flower and tricky to get right with its soft, fringy petals and the way it twirls when opening. I actually spent more time on this one than on all the other assets combined.
The blackcurrant was built in Houdini, using an L system for the stem and an RBD sim to separate the overlapping fruits.
