Testing the Ronin RS4 Pro in tight spots. Can't always fit the Steadicam, so it's awesome to explore other filmmaking tools. Old navy ships have super narrow hallways and obstacles everywhere. Gets tricky especially when pulling / leading with the cast.
The RS4 Pro has a small footprint so they’re great for these narrow spaces. We can also fit over benches and beds whereas the Steadicam post would usually hit. However payload is the trade-off so it’s depending on the camera and lens package you’re after. Lots to consider for filmmakers.
Not perfect operating by myself or Raph, few bumps and camera shadows but decent for the hour or so we had in the ship to test this kit. Thanks @sieger_focuspuller for being my AC, @_raphaelsegal for spotting me, @mrstanley.co for being my subject. Legend.

Yesterday I visited Cherbourg after waiting 3 years to go.
I was lucky Mayor Simpson invited me over and gave me a tour of the town and the The Ration Shed Museum.
It reminded me of the movie Rabbit-Proof Fence. It’s like a whole world that feels a million miles away, and to discover it’s only 3 hours from QLD’s capital city, hidden away, is very confronting.
A place with real issues, real trauma.

Next week it will be 8 years since my dad was diagnosed with Bone marrow cancer and told he has one year to live.
He’s still alive and healthy!

Fatherhood is one of my core values.
No amount of money, status, material possessions or education can ever replace quality time.
I’m working toward directing, a competitive and long-term path that may take 10 or 20 years to fully unfold. I want my daughter to see me go for it and understand what’s possible. I want to be on sets, learning, creating and directing my own films.
But none of it matters if I’m not present with her. She will never be a kid again. The time to enjoy it and be here is now.
Staying aware of my values reminds me, especially during busy seasons, to slow down and remember that every adventure and moment we share is priceless.
