Nice edit from our ‘GET UP’ graffiti & street art initiative from our guys @elvisbelliato & @matthewmcaleer

WE CARRY ON This mural is one part of a community led project by @hivecancersupport and @ulsteruni . The artwork is based on the findings of an Ulster University research study commissioned by Hive Cancer Support that looked at the mental health impact of cancer surgery. We want to thank all those who took part and were willing to tell their personal story to help create this piece. The singular sunflower looks at each individual journey and the focus and determination to look to the light in dark times. It also represents the innovative air purifying paint used on this project. The vase has under gone the Japanese art of Kintsugi were repairing pottery with a gold lacquer makes it stronger and more beautiful than before, to be appreciated rather than disguised. Cancer does not discriminate. Many homes around the world have been affected in some way- the window is a representation of this. This mural was created using GrafClean paint by @graphenstonepaintsuk , which reacts with sunlight to reduce air pollution. No spray paint was used to create this piece. The project was made possible through funding from The Ideas Fund. ✊ ‘Lads let’s be the generation that stops it’ ✊ We are incredibly proud of this EVAWAG mural project and of every young man who took part in it. Delivered in collaboration with @_peaball @fwin.org.uk and @waterside_n_p with @hillcresttrustyouthclub this project has been a powerful and meaningful experience that will leave a lasting impact on the community for years to come. Designed to speak directly to their peers, the mural features impactful imagery of the participants holding placards with messages they developed collaboratively throughout the project. Their courage, honesty and willingness to be visibly represented on the mural has been truly inspiring. By putting their faces to these messages, they have taken a powerful stand and brought authenticity and impact to this work. “It’s the right thing to be spray painting about,” said one project participant. The mural aims to encourage other young men to reflect on their attitudes and behaviours, and to take an active role in creating a culture of respect. A huge thank you to everyone involved in bringing this important piece to life. Last week @feilederry asked us to tidy up some bus stops that were very run down looking, so we battled the bad weather last week and embraced the good weather this week to get them completed. #peaball #derrystreetart #streetartderry

We were asked by TES (an Irish based company that provides power skids to the global data center market) to create a piece at their Ballykelly site that reflects the process from start to finish. . . . We asked @yellowbrickgraphix to help us create copper elements made from dia bond to add a three dimensional aspect to the piece and highlight one of the main elements used in creating the skids that power the data centers around the world. Copper . . . Battling the elements on this one ☔️💨❄️☀️🌪️⛅️

Sad to see this place close. @pykenpommes has been a huge champion of the graffiti and street art scene here in the city, giving all our artists the opportunity to push the limits of our art form in new directions. Just a little insight into our amazing graffiti workshops with @_peaball creatives ⚡️ In just 6 hours, participants learned how to sketch graffiti lettering, work with a doodle grid, and experiment with a range of spray-painting techniques - all before collaborating on a large-scale graffiti mural! A huge thank you to @jamtwo & @dire.one_ for sharing your skills and creativity 🌟 You may have just inspired a whole new wave of graffiti artists 👀 This workshop was organised by FUSE Arts as part of Creating Creatives - a project managed by @maywe_events and generously supported by the Derry City & Strabane District Council’s Local Co-Designed Action Plan, funded through #PEACEPLUS and managed by the Special EU Programmes Body (SEUPB)🌟
