✊ ‘Lads let’s be the generation that stops it’ ✊ We are incredibly proud of this EVAWAG mural project and of every young man who took part in it. Delivered in collaboration with @_peaball @fwin.org.uk and @waterside_n_p with @hillcresttrustyouthclub this project has been a powerful and meaningful experience that will leave a lasting impact on the community for years to come. Designed to speak directly to their peers, the mural features impactful imagery of the participants holding placards with messages they developed collaboratively throughout the project. Their courage, honesty and willingness to be visibly represented on the mural has been truly inspiring. By putting their faces to these messages, they have taken a powerful stand and brought authenticity and impact to this work. “It’s the right thing to be spray painting about,” said one project participant. The mural aims to encourage other young men to reflect on their attitudes and behaviours, and to take an active role in creating a culture of respect. A huge thank you to everyone involved in bringing this important piece to life. This initiative was made possible through funding from The Executive Office via The Waterside Neighbourhood Partnership through Derry City and Strabane District Council. 💜 📸 credits @moysephoto

🐣 FWIN EASTER CRAFT DAY!🐣 This morning, we christened the brand new FWIN HQ with its first ever event! We welcomed in women from across the district for a relaxed and cosy morning of Easter-themed crafts. With plenty of cups of tea and hot cross buns, the conversation was flowing and the craic was 90! The ladies had the opportunity to make a selection of crafts from flower baskets to Easter cards and bonnets 👒 Then, we wrapped up with some delicious soup and wheaten bread from The Sandwich Co. We'd like to thank all of the women who joined us today and helped us christen the new space. We'd also like to thank our wonderful facilitators from Galliagh Women's Group, Charlotte Gormley, and Hayley Doman. A big thanks to our staff and board members who kept the event running smoothly, and the tea topped! This event was made possible thanks to funding from The Community Fund. We can't wait to see you at our next event, after our Easter break! 😍

📍WE'RE MOVING!📍 Have you heard the scandal and the bars? FWIN HQ is moving! We’ve been sharing a space in Holywell Trust for 12 years now but we’ve been growing a lot recently so it’s time we expand into a new space. The new FWIN HQ has a bigger office for more friendly faces, a cosy meeting space, and an amazing room for us to host all of our FWIN events! The building is also wheelchair accessible with a lift. We're very excited to welcome you into our brand new (very pink) space, conveniently located on the Diamond, next to Abbey Insurance. We will be officially moved in and doors open from the 30th March 2026, with all classes, programmes, and events taking place in our new space from this date. It will take us a few weeks to find our feet in the new space so if you visit and have any feedback, we'd love to hear it! If you have any questions, or need directions, feel free to give us a wee call on 028 7126 6291. We're looking forward to seeing you all soon - the kettle will be on and the biscuits will be stocked!

🌟WOMEN IN CIVIL SOCIETY LEADERSHIP🌟 Our Coordinator, Catherine, and our Ending Violence Against Women and Girls (EVAWG) Project Officer, Holly, attended a reception for Women in Civil Society Leadership at the request of Joint Secretary Laurence Simms, Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, and Emma Madigan. This wonderful event brought together women who are leading the way in positive change in the communities across Northern Ireland. Bringing people together to discuss projects, plans, and ongoing issues creates a collaborative network of women working together. We also had the pleasure of meeting Uachtarán na hÉireann / President of Ireland Catherine Connolly who gave a beautiful address recognising the positive impact, and the hard work that is done in the community sector. President Connolly also took the time to speak with Catherine and Holly about the work that we do at FWIN, our upcoming conference, and our Ending Violence Against Women and Girls project. It was such an honour to be invited to this reception, and for President Connolly to take a moment to speak with FWIN.
