Very cool to have three (!) projects shortlisted in the 2026 Australian Interior Design Awards. The work showcased this year is incredible, we are in fine company. Big congratulations to all the finalists.

Above The Clouds, Collins St
Deiji, Paddington
We are so lucky to have been able to work with some of Australia’s most exciting fashion talent to bring these spaces to life. Warmest thanks to our clients for trusting us, and to the judging panel for your support. Photography by Tom Ross & Cieran Murphy
@abovethecloudsstore Melbourne was included in @est_living top 5 retail stores of 2025, we are so proud to be mentioned amongst such a talented pool of creatives.
When interesting, independent brands meet the right design partner, some serious magic can be made.

We chatted with The Local Project about some of the incredible independent Australian fashion brands we’ve been very fortunate to work with — in some cases conceiving their first-ever physical spaces.
There is also a spotlight our recent work for Above The Clouds in Melbourne, the second store we’ve crafted for the talented crew.
Warmest thanks to Virginia, Em and the LP team, congratulations on the gorgeous issue. Grab yourselves a copy folks.

Had a lovely chat with EST Living.🤍
The team asked Pattern to “Walk us through your process, what changes and what stays the same each time?”
In a retail context, we try to tap into the essence of a brand, and then sort of fill the whole space with that spirit. Once defined, it can then be explored across almost endless iterations. For Deiji, it’s this lovely, warm, slightly left-of-field kind of cool. At Paddington, the brand’s newest store, we were working with a tenancy maybe a third of the size of their Byron Bay Flagship. But a smaller space didn’t mean compromising on thoughtful details or quality of experience.
Warmest thanks to the EST Living Team for featuring Deiji Paddington, alongside a selection of our other work.

A pleasure to work again with cult womenswear label, Deiji, on their new Sydney store.
Deiji Paddington is the golden-hued sister of Deiji Byron Bay, possessing her own DNA but still woven with the brand’s signature offbeat-elegance.
Compact yet considered, the design complements its heritage setting, leaning into the inherent cosiness of the petite Glenmore Road site. Thank you Emma and Juliette for trusting us, the brief of ‘warmth and generosity’ was so lovely. You can read more about the project over at @yellowtrace , thank you so much Dana and team for featuring this work.

“…sometimes the quietest, most understated spaces worm their ways into our brains most deeply.”
Thank you @framemagazine for featuring our latest work for Above The Clouds. 🪱
Working with @abovethecloudsstore again to bring their second store to life was a dream. If you’re in Melbourne and haven’t seen the store, get on down. And if you’re not familiar with the collection, prepare to swoon!

Thank you @ad_germany for the inclusion in your kitchen special, and congratulations on the beautiful issue (featuring cover star Lenny Kravitz, no less!).
Yolo, despite a modest footprint, punches above its weight in its functional offering. It really challenges some fairly widely-accepted residential design conventions. Nowhere exemplifies this more than its kitchen, the beating heart of this home.

Kitchen Issue Out Now | Kitchen Expressionism: Abstract Qualities, Resonant Materials
Individual expression finds new relevance in this kitchen issue, particularly through the ten global projects that balance abstraction with resonant materials in our special feature, Kitchen Compendium. Each project, space and product in this issue holds true to a singular vision—but nowhere more so than in the authentic expression of exceptional kitchen design.

Byron-based St Agni have opened the doors to their new space in our old neighbourhood, Sydney’s Bondi Beach. It is so cool to watch this brand go from strength to strength, led by the formidable and utterly lovely Lara Fells. To be even a small part of the St Agni story was a pleasure.
The design’s clean lines and fluid silhouettes complement the existing architectural shell, adding a little polish whilst retaining the building’s rugged charm.
Thank you Kennedy Knight for the craftsmanship and Tom Ross for the beautiful images.
You can head over to Local Project to read more. Warmest thanks to Virginia and the LP team for featuring this one.
