Tribeca Film Festival has been extended family for me personally having premiered our first experimental film Nas: Time is ILLmatic there in 2014.

ALLEN IV3RSON
is a three-part docuseries about the captivating life of basketball legend and global sensation Allen Iverson, whose authentic voice and unapologetic expression of style paved the way for future generations and revolutionized the culture of the NBA.
When I first spoke with Allen “Bubba Chuck” we spoke about
the power of story to inspire.
As a director I look to tell story’s of identity, who we are, how we change and how we disrupt.
We spoke about the untold stories. It has to be raw and uncut.
The “Truth to the Answer”
Allen would say
“It ain’t going to be pretty”
“I ain’t lying about sh^t”
From his origins in Hampton, VA, to the trenches of Stuart Gardens projects in Newport “Bad” News, Iverson drew strength from his mother, Ann, and the family that refused to let him fall.
Unjustly sentenced to prison, his view of authority hardened and his resolve sharpened. Through faith and loyalty, he carried his crew and community onto the global stage, facing the media that crowns the street legend yet vilifies the man who embodies it.
Allen entered the league as hip-hop set the world on fire, but neither the NBA nor the mainstream media was ready for that truth. He didn’t just change the game, he lit a fire in the hearts of those who saw themselves in his fight.
Iverson’s legacy isn’t just in the blood, sweat, and tears he left on the court. It’s in those he lifted up.
I’m honored to direct this story of resilience, sacrifice, loyalty, and uncompromising truth.
