Felt like I was folding time a bit last week being back east and bouncing between all things radio, music and friendship. Big ❤️ to all the radio homies, new and old, I got to hang with and talk music with at Non-Comm this year. DFC!
Also big ❤️ and 🫂 to everybody that came through @mezcaleriamilagrosa on Friday night. That room is really special! I was back on my beloved @thelotradio last Saturday afternoon for @darkerthanwax FM and opened things up with a little more propulsion than usual.
Leaving New York only increases its gravity. The city keeps pulling emotional rent from me.
I haven’t posted in a while but what else is new. The algorithm on here really only cares about reels and feeding our AI overlords all the facial recognition, as if every blink and half-smile is being archived for a future that will not remember why we ever smiled at all.
Anyway I’m still doing my @kalwmusic radio shows every weekend and wanted to share that I started a lil’ weekly mailer sharing my latest radio shows and some music related musings to go along with it. Mexico City really is a place where time does not disappear, it accumulates. A true convergence of eras. Kicking off my run of birthday functions tonight at Departamento, a gig that’s been waiting since 2020. Tomorrow afternoon find me at Drama Radio Bar and then Monday night, playing records with the homies at Café de Nadie.
