So this Motherโs Day hit differently for me because Iโm in my era of giving myself grace and I mean every inch of that word. Not just saying it because it sounds nice but actually living it out in practical ways.
For the longest, I have struggled with being nocturnal and honestly, it affected my productivity in the home front in ways that made me feel guilty. Due to the nature of the business I run, I often find myself working at odd hours of the night. Then when my children return from school and need me the most, thatโs usually when the sleep kicks in. Kai!
For a while, I judged myself harshly to the point I was beginning to feel sick. I felt like I wasnโt doing enough or showing up enough but lately, Iโve realized that sometimes, grace looks like finding different ways to ride the same boat.๐
So now, when Iโm awake during those odd hours, I make sure every meal theyโll need is prepared. I put everything in place ahead of time. Thankfully, my children are at an age where they can help themselves around the house.
Motherhood is not always about doing things the conventional way. Sometimes itโs about adapting, SURVIVING, loving intentionally and making things work in the best way you can. Iโm learning that giving yourself grace is also acknowledging that you are trying, you are showing up and you are doing your best with the season youโre in.
To every mother navigating life differently than expected, more grace to you.๐ฅ
