✷ Artist of the Month: Lisa Braid @_lisa_braid_
Malerei
Lisa Braid untersucht in ihrer Ölmalerei die Spannung zwischen Bewegung und Stille, zwischen Wachstum und Ungewissheit - und die sich stetig verschiebenden Dynamiken in Beziehungen und Emotionen.

Artist Spotlight – Vienna based painter Lisa Braid @_lisa_braid_
Primarily working with oil paint, Lisa’s paintings reflect themes of growth and uncertainty, as well as the shifting dynamics of relationships and emotions.
Through Lisa’s paintings, we see the impact of her rural background, with the artist citing the “flickering pull of television” as a defining influence on her visual language.

I smell cinnamon buns and morning coffee (handle broke), the milk is sweet it draws a pattern. I love to listen, belly feels save. The bells ring on point, every day. Memory starts, it’s a fascinating thing.
Did you see the blood moon yesterday?

painting/installation
oil on canvas, installed with unwoven canvas and cardboard
The cat-shaped frames depict moments of rest, one lies down, the other sits quietly, facing the window as if watching the world outside. Inside the forms, shadowy figures appear, recalling late walks through unfamiliar cities and the slow process of finding one’s way. The work reflects emotional contrasts: the rapid shift between fear and calm, disorientation and safety.
