Circumstances have aligned to celebrate the album we released late last year, in a manner fitting to its creation: two guys in a room with a piano and a drumset, all acoustic. Today is release day for our self-titled full-length! And first project on vinyl. // This one is (nearly) all original songs, composed spontaneously. A platform for some deep grooves--inspired by the Bronx, Uptown, Buffalo, and Detroit--it is also basically an exercise in free improvisation. Recorded in two sessions coming out of the pandemic, with @marceloalexi on an upright and @willglassbreaks on drums and engineering, it captures a vibe// Much gratitude to @jerkfacemccatkittens for deft mixing and editing, @harrisnewman12 for mastering, @mawski for design help, and @shots_fired_snap for the dope cover photo. July 17, 2014 was our first performance as a duo, under the name Lexiglass. We had already done many shows as a backup band for uptown artists (among them @arpmusiq@iamcruznyc@telliefloyddmusic ["night of the living band" in costume!] @lethydenise@cynthialacruz@circa95 and the almighty @themachineny ), but that was the first time we were on a bill as an instrumental act. 10 years of beats, rhymes, and forgetting to take a band photo. Thanks to everyone for the love and collaboration.// We will be releasing new music in the fall, our first vinyl release, with Alexis exclusively on acoustic piano.
