Film is not dead, and more people keep on procuring the medium stays alive. @lucas_gath a light and shadow knight got creative with @juanazulay to make a music video for @officialcult . They went to @Panavision for support, and oh boy! If where they wete supportive. A bunch of creative and good people got together to make something interesting and have some fun. Among them, a new favorite of mine, @youthcultura , who came to be the keeper of the @kodak goods. I gotta say, it absurdly refreshing not pulling from a monitor and work through proper planing, rehearsals, and marks. 1 to 3 takes most of the time. Of course having a @cmotionlcs LCS and @focusbug_technologies goes a long way for reassurance. What a great time we had.
The concentration, focus and drive in their eyes, those are traits of Vikins on the hunt.
As for these two, after a forced call, they just wanted to go home.
Looking back when I started I barely had a car to go to work, all of the sudden taking this picture, I realized the only thing on the camera that doesn't come home with me, it's the camera. Got to keep that roll going.
A couple of months ago one of those indie narrative projects came to town, the dance began of figuring things out to find balance and get to a happy place with everybody. Little did I know that I would end up having a great time with this California guys. Center frame, King Matt, the back bone support of the movie, the whole production team will ever understand how lucky they where that this man decided to come out and play, one of those driving forces with zero ego that keeps you on the move in a good mood. Right of the frame, Rasa Partin, Cinematographer, father of 3, a saint like patience being hell bound on a kamikaze mission for doing movies, carrier of a sensitivity for light and camera movement that was refreshing to see. Left frame, your ramdom dude that likes to pull a knob on wide open lenses.

The oldest of 5. A role model, the one who show me the kind of family I wanted for my life, the one who show me the road to follow my profession. Brother you are now gone and I can't find a way to understand or digest this bitter news. Watching like a spectator from the grandstands, powerless and absent, now for a 3rd time in five years. Completely senseless.
The backstage never ending story.
An ever evolving sight. Started as a kid, either waiting for Mom or Dad to finish presenting, or for brief moments, jumping in for quick presentation myself. Now on to a different story. We'll see in another 10 where it leads. For now, I'll keep rearranging pieces of gear until the itch calms down.
About a year ago during luch, I took a second to appreciate the moment I was living in. In front of me lies a cold machine of precision, the culprit of some of my favorite films. It was a hard job that one, almost no one got unscraped those days, and I took it for what it was. None the less, It felt that the effort I've gone through had paid of, I was able to keep up. So there he was, taking 5 next to his medium of choice a Mini LF, Bill Pope in the flesh. What a thought cookie that guy is, what an amazing operator.
Thanks to the scientist @camilo.jarquin.73 for inviting me for the ride. And to my brother in arms to help keep a grasp of reality @dgonset , Danny Lucio, Greg Frank and Jon Mcardle.
We work in this industry a lot of times for a check, it's the way we make our living. But the times that we don't, we do it for the art, the expression, the things that matter. For those moments where we can motivate and make a difference. This short film @withhiseyesclosed was one of those, a collective of people putting in the work for a good story. Summoned by the writer and director of @flickhousestudio Jose Navas, and to support an amazing cast of young actors, that blew me away, @angelbarroeta put the band toguether and invite us to be a part of that journey. Now the result is on it's way to get known at the @laliff_ Hopefully it I'll moved people as it moved us.
Thanks to the guys mentioned before for having us, to Camera Operator @camera_creature , Gaffer @rochekai , to my second @martinvillaelias for putting up with the conditions. For the equipment support @cascabelgripandlighting@hdhousemiami305 and @marmediacinerentals . It was a great experience.

After a few music videos you get numb of doing them, most of the charm and magic goes by like a breeze, it becomes... Just another job. However there are exceptions, and when they happen it gets you invested in the project, back to the basic feel of "we are creating something awesome", that rush that got a lot of us started in the industry. Last year I was lucky to get a few of those, the magic duo, Director @mrmarlonp and DP @iamkimata putting toguether amazing images for @daddyyankee , #NoseDaCuenta #DeVueltaPaLaVuelta and the last one if the year that came out a couple days ago, #Problema. Work that I can say I feel proud of being a part of it. Thanks for having me and allowing me to be a part of this machine that help create this awesome images.
And yes Marlon I'll keep saying it, you guys keep raising the bar.
