This summer, I had the honor of being selected by @nalip_org for the 2025 NALIP Accelerator fellowship with my documentary, Gen Doom.
The film explores the global rise of “climate doom”, a cultural phenomenon in which fear of environmental collapse discourages action and leaves many young people in a state of paralysis— But not all of them...
The climate crisis is not simply an abstract idea of saving polar bears and trees, but a human rights crisis on a timer. With just a couple of years left until we hit irreversible climate tipping points, climate doom is a sinister phenomenon that is quietly threatening our collective survival. As the cultural zeitgeist of the younger generations is one of prevalent cynicism, fear of the future, and grief, our film follows local and international youth organizers who are working to transform despair into collective action and end the era of fossil fuels.
As part of the program, I had the opportunity to expand the project at the NALIP Media Summit with the help of great mentors and production companies. Deeply grateful to NALIP for championing underrepresented voices and supporting the development of this project without censure.

This is by far the project I am the most proud of. Everyday I am humbled by this woman. From the first moment I heard her story, I felt connected to her, even though my own immigration story is so dissimilar. Had we been denied our papers, it could have been my family. It could have been me.
Miss Flores (Pseudonym) is one of the thousands of undocumented immigrants that enter America illegally through the U.S.-Mexico border. A mother first and foremost, she explains why she felt compelled to flee her home country of Nicaragua while she was seven-and-a-half months pregnant. Through a mixture of live-action and animation, this short documentary explores the complexities of immigration. Miss Flores recounts her life from the vivid military violence of her childhood to the perilous journey that spanned several countries.
Through a mixture of live-action and animation, this short documentary explores the complexities of immigration while articulating one of its many unique experiences. An extraordinary woman hiding in plain sight, her story provides a glance into an American community that often prefers to go unnoticed.
