Was still such a DJ baby haha looking back 3 years when I played in the beloved club for the first time. Today 💫 honoured to musically guide the final hours of @bevrijdingsfestivalgroningen at the @paradigm050 stage together with @twiena Freedom is no given, as we know all too well living in the current times. For those of us here in NL, it is a gift won through the sacrifices of those who came before us - a legacy of resilience that we honour during Liberation Day. I can find the duality and paradoxes of life a challenge to navigate: the privilege of living in the relative freedom of the Netherlands versus the restraint of a highly regulated society; the hardships that, on some days, make functioning (almost) impossible, versus the times where the beauty of being is prominent. Music is a meeting point for these paradoxes. It gives space to hold memories, burdens and momentum at the same time. So it feels logical to celebrate Liberation Day through this universal power, turning our shared history into a collective surge of joy. I’ve been deep-diving into the library and digging new gems to bring the perfect ones for this set.
