Honored and excited to be part of this coalition that is committed to working together to better our Asian American community in San Francisco 🏮
📣Today, TAAF is proud to introduce the grassroots organizations in the San Francisco “Asian American Voices” initiative—an effort rooted in a simple belief: the people closest to the community are the ones best equipped to help it thrive.
Across the city, small community-based nonprofits have long been the backbone of AAPI neighborhoods—organizing safety patrols, leading neighborhood cleanups, and creating spaces of belonging. Yet despite their impact, many face ongoing challenges in sustaining and growing their work.
Through TAAF’s infrastructure and convening power, “Asian American Voices” was born to encourage donors across the Bay Area to invest more into grassroots groups that have tirelessly served our communities, but face sustainability challenges. Through this initiative, TAAF has already distributed more than $350,000 raised from local donors to 13 grassroots organizations to build their capacity and ensure AAPI residents can access a strong ecosystem of support.

Last week, Dear Community attended the 3rd Annual Chinatown Solidarity Summit in Vancouver’s Chinatown. Grateful to have the opportunity to learn alongside 60 inspiring API leaders from across the nation who are doing critical work to preserve culture, support small businesses, and strengthen our communities. So much shared knowledge, resilience, and collective vision in one space. 💛
San Francisco was well represented, and we’re excited to continue working alongside storied Chinatown nonprofits like Cameron House, Chinatown Community Development Center, Chinese Historical Society of America, Chinese Culture Center, Edge on the Square, and Committee of 100. Together, we look forward to amplifying critical initiatives- from preserving history, culture, and the arts, to advancing housing affordability, supporting youth and seniors, and strengthening international connections.
Thank you, Vancouver Chinatown Foundation @chinatownfoundation and U.S. Consulate in Vancouver and event organizers, Brian Pang @bpanger33 and Carol Lee for making this gathering possible.

This project is about turning a place of loss into a place of healing, joy, and connection. We are seeking $1.5 million in funding from the San Francisco Recreation and Park Department’s Community Opportunity Fund to transform Yik Oi Huang Peace and Friendship Park into a safe, welcoming, and vibrant community space for Visitacion Valley.
