No dia 13 de fevereiro, o Forum Dança abriu portas à partilha de uma etapa do trabalho Square Dance (título provisório) de Connor Scott, em residência nas últimas duas semanas. Desta vez, esteve acompanhado pelo olhar exterior das artistas Leonor Mendes e Emily da Silva, sendo que Emily participou, inclusive, neste open studio. Square Dance (título provisório) de Connor Scott é um dos projectos selecionados para a 2a edição do programa de acompanhamento de projetos em criação SPRING! Inspirado pelo movimento northern soul dos anos 70, o projeto explora formas de incorporação através da relação persistente e evocativa com a música e dança. Questiona ainda a noção de “espírito” como medida de profundidade numa performance. Connor Scott, bailarino e coreógrafo britânico residente em Lisboa, começou pelos estudos de danças latinas, de salão e urbanas, antes de se formar na Rambert School of Ballet and Contemporary Dance, em Londres. Vencedor do BBC Young Dancer Award (2015) e da Copenhagen International Choreography Competition (2017), Connor participou no programa PACAP (2023) e colabora com artistas internacionais. EN↘ Square Dance (working title) by Connor Scott is one of the projects selected for the 2nd edition of the SPRING! guidance program for works-in progress. Inspired by the northern soul movement of the 1970s, the project explores forms of embodiment through the persistent and evocative relationship with music and dance while questioning the notion of ‘spirit’ as a measure of depth in a performance. Connor Scott, a British dancer and choreographer based in Lisbon, began studying Latin, ballroom and urban dance before graduating from the Rambert School of Ballet and Contemporary Dance in London. Winner of the BBC Young Dancer Award (2015) and the Copenhagen International Choreography Competition (2017), Connor participated in the PACAP programme (2023) and has been collaborating with international artists.
