One year living on the other side of the country! Iâm enjoying it here immensely. People are direct in a way that I find much kinder than leaving things unresolved. Iâm facing my fears, and Iâm growing and learning. There are good diners, a nice noise scene, goth scene, a very good vintage bookstore and a few very special people that I love very much!
Excited to announce the cassette tape version of the new @glo_torch album from @bentorecords ! Available now at bandcamp (link in bio) or stream on Spotify or Apple Music!). Thank you so much to everyone that supported this 2.5 year product, especially photographer @chris_lael_larson , @souwester lodge, and my collaborators Tiana Garoogian and Kale Nixon. It was an amazing thing to work on, and we sincerely hope you like it.
The debut album from GLO TORCH đ¸đş is out today on all streaming services and PHYSICALLY via @bentorecords đ!
Glo Torch is a trio comprised of Tiana Garoogian, Clamber, and Kale Nixon that began after an impromptu collaboration for @sarahsarahturnerturner âs Pink Noise in the Spring of 2021. The idea behind it was to create a group project where we would always say âyesâ to each otherâs ideas and to have each member contribute equally. Over the course of 2+ years we gathered wherever we could in Portland and escaped to @souwester sporadically to write, record, mix, and mix some more. We continually traded laptops on a 20-30m timer, iterating on each otherâs work. We made a lot of food, drank tea, went on long walks, performed various rituals, and sat in silence in between our work time. And this is the end result.
You can get the album physically on đ¸ hot pink đ¸vinyl or cassette via Bento Records on our Bandcamp.
Thank you for listening đ¸ đş đ

Thinking back to @crystalquartez âs pre-pandemic birthday party đđđ If youâre in Portland, come to @crystalquartez âs show tonight at Mt. Tabor!
Is a poem needed for this one?
No. This is just an Instagram caption.
Can an Instagram caption be poetic?
Of course!
In an Ad-addled world, there can still be some signal.
Here is a grapefruit, anyway.
âŚ
I donât know what to say
But
I hit the road for a month
One way tickets
And I learned
Just how much I donât know myself
Is it a relief?
Most of my life I just kept myself busy
I passed by the moments that really mattered
I hurt people
With what looked like vast indifference
Itâs taken me time to be kind
When I am terrified
Iâm learning it slowly
Thanks for your patience
Two years ago I got some mirrors and stored them in bubble wrap between uses. Itâs so nice to be able to add a heterotopic space to things. To double up a reality from a tiny shape with a tiny piece of glass and a reflection.
But this world is inherently fragile! Throw it in the ocean to get a neat reflection, and it can break!
I have broken many mirrors to get a new perspective, but I am not regretful. Neither am I unlucky. I am friends with all kinds of spaces - mostly Non-places, but heteroptias as well.
