Tonka Torque Series by Norman Campbell. Campbell, an upstate NY metal sculptor, has placed classic American made toy trucks within an opening between straight steel rods. These rods are then heated until red hot and malleable. Next, both ends of the rods are placed in vices that mercilessly twist around the toys simultaneously crushing and melting them. Series of three created in 2001.

A mural by New York artist, Michael Allen, has just been installed at the bllaq gallery. Allen paints an on an open weave burlap. He is inspired by the forests and waterways on his upstate NY property. This latest mural has captured the dappled light of the Catskills and the delicate colors of Autumn. Metal sculptures by Rodger Stevens, a New York artist. Each piece is made of hammered, riveted, and hand wrought solid brass. Stevens has recently begun a collection of jewelry using the same techniques used to create his free standing sculptures. Each link of the #chainnecklace worn by Anna from @nestcatskills is hammered and gently curved into place by Stevens, one at a time. No casting or re-production is used in the creation of his work.

Ceramic #bonsaitrees and #pomegranate by M. Solomon and drawings by Tom Bosket at @_bllaq gallery. Bosket also manages a social justice organization called @engncntr that helped feed hundreds of Sullivan County residents during the #covidpandemic. He also directs a successful film program for children in disadvantaged communities that have little to do creatively once the school day ends.

Indian Ink drawings are by Sam Still whose process involves three applications of ink and a final burnishing of the drawn form. The ceramic Orbs by A.Biancoviso are fired in a wood burning kiln of Biancoviso’s own making. Lovely waxed surface gently catches the light.
