Hair look for NYFW 👸🏾 I said I wanted something big, no hair on my face, and let’s bring back the Koroba braids but making it…Beyoncé!!! So I went to my favorite braid artist @ashleyr_enee at @hairbysusy and she DELIVERED 🔥🔥🔥 I just love the evolution of my hair story with braids. This is for sure one of my favorite styles! A crown made with intention, love, and creativity 🥰 Once @itsme_shinekaaa put that beat ON my face, baby I was like wait, oh!! It’s giving I am HER! 📸 & MUA: @itsme_shinekaaa Hair: @rowsbyrenee I do not own the rights to this audio. #nyfw #newyorkfashionweek #hairbysuzy #braidsstyles #braids #hairinspiration #nychairstylist #braidart #braidartist #editorial #blackhair #blackhairmag #blackhairstyles #darkskinmakeup #melaninmakeup

A wrote this piece as a Haitian girl who grew up as the quiet girl, when really, I was suppressing emotions that eventually almost suffocated me. So when I speak my mind now, it is years of work of unlearning and re-learning how to use my voice. I am still learning. But I’ve come a long way. I hope this inspires somebody to stop performing silence. Maybe it starts with rele aammmmmwweeeeyyyyy 🇭🇹🫶🏾 Read the full article on my Substack 🙏🏾 #haitianculture #haitianflagday #haitianheritagemonth

Happy Mother’s Day 💖💖💐 I want to especially acknowledge those who are grieving the loss of their mother, navigating difficult or long-distance relationships, or mourning the loss of a child 💖 What a gift it is to return to myself through something as simple as breathing 🙏🏾 Grateful for these moments of softness, presence, and generational healing. It's always that one friend who never shows up on time. 🤣 Thankfully, being fashionably late is a little more accepted in this group. You asked for more prints and they’re here! @clem.w0rld is wearing Pink Gwayav headwrap. @findingpaola is wearing our Faerie headwrap. And, @_aelle_ is wearing Flame. #FanmDjanm

I see Judith as more than a street vendor, beyond a poto mitan, she is a living archive that we are called to preserve 🇭🇹💖🙏🏾 I had a conversation with Judith’s daughter that inspired me to write this article about her impact. I don’t think it’s a coincidence that I took the train directly to her shop with no directions that day. I just knew I had to listen to that inner voice. I hope this article resonate with you enough to show up for the poto mitan in your lives, not just for Mother’s Day but as a regular practice. Head over on Substack to read the full version 🫶🏾 #haitianculture #haitianwomen #potomitan #fanmayisyèn

Kay Judith Nan Brooklyn 🇭🇹🇭🇹💖 In honor of Haitian Heritage Month, I wanted to capture the essence of Haitian culture. Through the story of Ashley and Judith, I found the perfect lens to do just that. Market women are often seen as the visual heartbeat of Caribbean life, but their impact reaches far beyond what we see. They hold communities together and they deserve their flowers This Haitian Heritage Month, I honor Judith and her store in Brooklyn 💐 Creative direction @vijayscharles @_aelle_ Talent @_aelle_ Styled @_aelle_ Hair @asiathegoddess_ Grapher @vijayscharles Editor @vijayscharles #pvmondayhome #haitianheritagemonth #haitianculture #potomitan

Did you rele ammmwweeyyyyy today? It’s never too late. Heal your nervous system. 🇭🇹 I truly see this as an ancestral healing practice of releasing and resetting the nervous system. We suppress so much of our emotions so “rele amwey” is a way to activate our fight or flight response. Vocal release can help move that energy out of your body. Cheers to healing 🫶🏾 #haitianculture #haitiancreole #ayisyen #kreyol

Happy Haitian Heritage Month! 🇭🇹🇭🇹🇭🇹 When you see me, I want you to think of the beauty of my culture in all ways 🥰 As I'm building my platform, one thing I've always been intentional about is centering my Haitian culture. Whether it's through my clothes, language, food, books, events, my writing, or scholarship…everything starts with home. That’s my power 🇭🇹 Set: @atelierndigo x @gap x @harlemsfashionrow 📸: @afambu.chi #haitianheritagemonth #haiti #haitianculture #ayisyen #houstonfarmersmarket
