More than thankful to an Academy Award qualifying festival for hosting our US premiere, and welcoming silence and dance make its way into narrative film. My debut film. My first premiere. It was unlike any other performance- it’s done, locked. 🤯 Throwing your work in front of an audience feels vulnerable and empowering. The coolest thing is the mix of crew, family, friends, industry and strangers- that watch your work in one shared breath. 🙏🏽
Thanks @nederlandsfilmfestival for creating a space to celebrate, especially in these strange times, when the world feels increasingly disconnected. It motivates me to keep making films, to keep exploring a language that shows the power of silence (over violence ✊🏽) and how dance can create narrative (beyond form).
