Berlin-based dream rock outfit Roomer are back with ‘Written By‘, the first song after their 2025 debut ‘Leaving It All to Chance‘, which placed them on the map and in our hearts. Recorded in both the rehearsal room and the studio, ‘Written By‘ forecasts a new sound for the trio that relies more on production but feels equally raw and honest. The genesis of the song is a true first take. Ludwig showed Ronja the main chords, and they recorded before the moment could cool. The vocal that became the backbone of the track is a single one-take improvisation, with both lyrics and melody shaped in real time as it unfolded. A live reverb dub was printed on the spot, and the take was left deliberately bare, kept close to its original shape to preserve the first-thought clarity of that moment. The lyrics play with symbolism and dramatic imagery, creating the atmosphere of a play or even a nightmare that one is trying to wake up from. As singer Ronja puts it: “The song is about moving through spaces and versions of yourself, never fully staying. It’s not loud, just constant, like growing older without noticing it every day.”

Tickets for Puschenfest are available now via TixForGigs and DICE. With Leaving It All to Chance, ROOMER don’t quite leave everything up to fate. The Berlin outfit’s debut album hums with guitar-driven heartbreak, pairing mind-splitting noise with seductive melodies. Capturing the gritty yet emotive energy of their live performances, the album welcomes in the occasional ear-candy, staying true to the raw physicality of a hazy club show all while sharpening its edges—crafted in true DIY spirit and released by Munich’s Squama Recordings. #puschenshows #berlinshows #puschenhitlist #roomer #puschenfest

Courtesy brings her Against Interpretation Club to the ICA London on December 6th — part group show, part club night —where musicians, DJs, and contemporary artists explore performance, music and sound. For this iteration, Against Interpretation Club commissioned a performance by Welsh artist Angharad Williams and a text written and performed by artist Josephine Pryde, both currently living and working in Berlin. Musician Lolina will play a concert as well as the German dream-rock band Roomer. Roomer recently released their debut album Leaving It All to Chance, with lead singer song writer Ronja SchĂ¶ĂŸler, and band members Ludwig Wandinger from Caterina Barbieri’s light-years label, and Luka Aron who is currently participating in the La Biennale di Venezia, Biennale Musica 2025. The performances and concerts are accompanied by DJsets by Courtesy and a DJ crew assembled by the London based art gallery Galerina. An edition of custom-made fans by German artist Hanna Stiegeler will be sold for the occasion. Against Interpretation Club is curated by the Danish artist Courtesy and is an ongoing event series which most recently was held at Schinkel Pavillon and OHM in Berlin. The event at ICA is organised in collaboration with London’s experimental club music promoter Goodness.
