The Kibbutz Contemporary Dance Company is proud and delighted to congratulate MICHAL VACH on being awarded the prestigious Yair Shapira Prize for 2025 — an honor presented to outstanding dancers for their contribution to the world of dance in Israel.
Michal’s win is not only well deserved; it is moving, meaningful, and reflects a deep and personal artistic journey.
Michal joined the Kibbutz Contemporary Dance Company in 2019, and since then has grown into a standout dancer with remarkable stage presence, technical precision, and exceptional artistic sensitivity.
Throughout his years with the company, he has developed into a multidisciplinary artist who expands his creative expression far beyond the boundaries of dance.
Michal’s contribution to the company is evident both on and off the stage: he teaches the company’s Floor Work technique and repertoire in masterclasses and workshops across Israel and around the world.
In parallel, Michal creates original works that have been presented in company projects and international festivals.
Beyond his stage work, Michal expresses his artistic voice through photography and video, where his unique eye, aesthetic sensibility, and deep connection to movement, light, and the human moment are beautifully revealed.
This award honors his artistry, personality, and meaningful contribution to the company and to the dance community.

Presenting my newest trailer for Beneath The Marble — a choreography created as part of the Insiders 2025 choreographic project by Kibbutz Contemporary Dance Company: Original Creations.
In shadows deep where silence screams,
Three sisters rise from broken dreams.
Their limbs like serpents twist and turn,
Their eyes like ice, their hearts still burn.
Not villains now, but myths of their own,
They turn through lies once carved in stone.
Stone becomes flesh, curse turns to cry,
The curse is reclaimed, but fate won’t be defied.
