Donation based entry. The closing evening of our Room for Music series brings something genuinely rare: a label that has been making it impossible to categorize music since 1967. Fifty-nine years old, 575 releases, Munich-born and still impossible to file under any single heading: Trikont, probably the world’s oldest independent music label, has been building a catalogue of the obstinate, the overlooked, and the genuinely unique for more than half a century. For the last edition of our listening sessions, the label arrives at Blitz in the form of Eva Mair-Holmes, Trikont’s flagbearer & director and Franz Dobler: writer, journalist, DJ and one of the authors of Die Trikont-Story. Musik, Krawall & andere schöne Künste. Dobler reads; Mair-Holmes interjects with unpublished details. And in between, Dobler reaches into his Trikont record crate and plays. Old pressings, unlikely survivals, overlooked gems on the Blitz system, at the volume they deserve. „Whatever your definition of good music is, Trikont has it“, the Neue Züricher Zeitung once wrote, and the BBC concluded: „Trikont Compilations are breathtaking – Songs plucked by experts with golden ears“.

Alongside 3 albums and 4 EPs the Montréal/Berlin-based Brit has featured on the cover CD of Rolling Stone and been labelled „startling and beautiful“ by „Whispering“ Bob Harris. Crabtree has shared the stage with Martha Wainwright, Sun Kil Moon and Great Lake Swimmers amongst many others. The complexity of Paper Beat Scissors‘ music both belies and serves its simple aim: to create a point of emotional connection and communication with the listener; To hold a space to disappear, briefly, inside the spells it casts. November 11th 2025 Iko Chérie + Su Yono *Live Visuals by AUGE* Sonic Hypnosis & In Orbit presents: Bellevue di Monaco Doors at 19:00 /ikosumuc Iko Chérie, the solo project of French-born, London-based multi-instrumentalist Marie Merlet, defines her new album ‘Soft Centre’ as alive in radical tenderness, unguarded, open, and vivid. She blends dub-inflected textures, pop tinged vocals, reverb-drenched guitars, Casio drones, and warm experimental noises – creating her own intimate, fragile sound. Self-produced and largely performed by Merlet, and the result is a deeply personal work, balancing light and dark in a Lynchian dream-pop haze. The album is an invitation to connection that she describes as “... hopefully a meditation into healing.” A versatile musician trained in classical piano, jazz, and electroacoustic composition, Marie has long moved between different worlds of sound. She has worked with Laetitia Sadier in Monade, performs with Gina Birch (The Raincoats), Malphino, Yama Warashi, and several other groups. She recently appeared as guest singer on the latest Stereolab album. ‘Soft Centre’ is released on November 7th 2025 on the Hamburg based label Pingipung Records. Marcus Grassl (Aloa Input) and Chris Hofbauer (Micro Circus) worked together for the first time on musical sketches in 2018. The first finished songs were created along with the singer and leader of the Female Indie Choir „The Witches of Westend,“ Pola Dobler. Musically, Su Yono moves somewhere between misty-experimental-pop, indie, and avant-folk. Moments of deception break through a backdrop of guitars, bass, keys, synths, and pop elements that come together to create their own kind of sonic wall.
