Thank you @sophiensaele team for hosting us in the New Techniques residency. Focusing on the 1990s telenovela Muñeca Brava, the research departs from the series’ transnational circulation across Latin America, Eastern Europe, and the Middle East. It approaches melodrama as an embodied technique: a non-institutional language absorbed through collective spectatorship in late 1990s television. Burcu Bilgiç and Nicole Wysokikamien, together with the performer and musician Anton Gerzina, hack Muñeca Brava’s scenes, diving into their early imaginaries of gender, class, and desire. Nostalgia and cringe become tools for revisiting these imaginaries. Working with movement material drawn from the show—long gazes, confrontations, stillness, sudden runs—the research reorganizes these elements to open them to new affective possibilities. Thank you for being such a solid curator + dramaturg✨ and for trusting us in the process @dancemom666 🔥 We were luck to be accompanied by amazing dramaturgical support of @jenrosenblit and video shooting and editing support by @naz_li_k 🤍 amazing pictures from the opening by 📸 @a.khatchikian

Lay All Your Love on Me November 8th and 13th 7 pm and 6 pm respectively Künstlerhaus Bethanien, Berlin Free entrance In Lay All Your Love on Me, I turn the Jewish wedding ritual into a loose choreographic score, inviting guests to help me fulfill my grandma’s dream of seeing me under a chuppah. This work is created with @sofia.papita , who is doing the costume design, and @ashbela who shares dramaturgical support as we find our own ways to reclaim and reimagine an old ritual. the work was developed during my fellowship at @lababerlin , hosted by @kuenstlerhaus.bethanien . I want to thank @hyperspaceman95 for all the bridal-ghostly conversations we had (and will continue to develop 🤍), and @aba.naia for the recent support and generosity in sharing methodologies and concerns. looking forward to seeing you there save your spot by writing to [email protected]

Zu meinen Projekten zählen „In my next performance I will make you laugh” (2023) und eine performative Umsetzung von Anne Carsons „The Beauty of the Husband” (2025). ___ @100yearsdaad In 2025 we celebrate 100 years of international cooperation through DAAD and highlight scholarship holders at the Berlin University of the Arts. STUDENT PERSPECTIVE Meet Nicole Wysokikamien! I’m a dance artist and researcher from Montevideo, Uruguay, now based in Berlin. After training at Uruguay’s National Dance School, I studied Literature (BA), Performing Arts Theory (Diploma), and completed the MA Solo/Dance/Authorship at @hzt_berlin – supported by a DAAD fellowship (2022-2024). My work explores how choreography, text, and performance intersect, often using autobiographical material and humor. Projects include “In my next performance I will make you laugh” (2023) and a performative version of Anne Carson’s “The Beauty of the Husband” (2025). The DAAD fellowship allowed me to focus on my Master, improve my German, and proved: secure conditions expand the capacity for research and creativity – essential in the often-precarious arts field. ___ #DAAD100 #InternationalExchange #udkinternational #udkberlin #performanceartist #creativeprocess

I showed the picture to @veroniqas_96_sticks and she said what I’m wearing looks like a kokoshnik (Кокошник), a russian headdress traditionally worn by married women, often as part of a festive or wedding outfit.
