I cannot tell you how excited I am to have Morgan O (@_0rgan_ ) joining us at the Chapel Performance Space on May 9th, celebrating the tape release for “new cascades”. About Morgan O.: Morgan O is a saxophonist from Seattle, WA. Her music weaves electronic textures, drones, and waves of sound with saxophone melodies that emerge out of a practice of improvisation, deep listening, and collaboration with performance artists, dancers, and visual artists. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I first discovered Morgan’s “Self-Titled Tape” while randomly browsing Bandcamp last year, and I was immediately floored by the beautiful cacophony of saxophone loops that came out of my speakers. I had the pleasure of seeing her perform live last Summer at @driftportland , and I am absolutely thrilled to get to experience her music again in Seattle. Joining her on the bill is neat beats (@128colors ) and @souschefmusic . 🎟️Ticket link in the bio flyer design by @eyehateredcars

I got to play so many sweet shows in the last two months! The first pic is from the work in progress showing of @purplesparks1 and @jeffrey.azevedo ‘s new show at @upstheatre - looking forward to continuing to work on this piece and hopefully performing it again in the new year! The second slide is from @driftportland in such a beautiful space put together by very sweet people! The last one is from the tape release show at pipsqueak!

Hi! Some exciting announcements from me! If you have talked to me in the last year and a half I have probably told you that I have been learning to play the saxophone. I made this tape to share what I have been playing in my living room and what I want to share with more people. I wrote these songs over the first year and half of becoming obsessed with this strange instrument. I recorded them this past spring with help and encouragement from Emmy, who also sings on two of the songs. I’ll be having a tape release show at @pipsqueak.seattle on August 24th, where you can get one from me. You can also listen online or order one by clicking on the link to the Bandcamp that’s in my bio! I’m super excited for the tape release show! I’ll play songs from the tape and there will be performances and by my brilliant friends @purplesparks1 & @jeffrey.azevedo , @kelly.langeslay and @bimbo_sisyphication . It will also be a mural reveal party for a new mural in the bathroom by @elvabennett and some comics that Elva made in collaboration with @kelly_bjork will also be up on the walls! The event will be a benefit raising money for autonomous trans healthcare projects, but as with all events at pipsqueak it’s pay what you can and NOTAFLOF. Come hang out and get a tape! I am excited to playing music again for the first time in 15 years. It would mean a lot to me if you listened to it! The first two videos on this post are from the early moments of writing two songs on this tape and the last one is a new song I’ve been working on for a new full length work by @purplespark1 that she’s performing at University of Puget Sound in Tacoma in September! (More details on that coming soon! I’m so excited to get to make music for her really beautiful and brilliant work.)
