Love art? Want to make a real impact & connect with Seattle’s art scene? METHOD Gallery is a volunteer-powered, non-profit installation space, and we’re looking for passionate folks like YOU!
At METHOD, we’re all about creating unique, non-commercial, and often awe-inspiring, site-specific art experiences. We’ve been a hub for innovative artistic expression for over a decade, and none of it would be possible without the incredible support of our volunteers. We’re looking for motivated individuals to help us keep our doors open and our programs thriving.

As a METHOD volunteer, you’ll be signing up for a minimum of 4 hours across every 8-week exhibition cycle. Our regular gallery hours are every Saturday from noon to 4 PM, and every First Thursday from 5 PM to 8 PM during the Art Walk. You can choose to take a 2-hour or 4-hour shift on Saturdays, and we also have exciting opportunities to help with First Thursday artwalk, special events, gallery turnovers, and even installation periods.

An unexpected window has opened. Next weekend, METHOD Gallery is hosting an intimate, two-day intensive workshop with the legendary Vicki Harlan (Colville Confederated Tribes), recipient of the prestigious 2024 "Spirit of the Northwest" award.
Because we are just launching promotion, seats are currently wide open—meaning this is a rare, accidental opportunity for near-private, master-level instruction in the meticulous craft of Traditional Basket Weaving.
Deep within the gallery walls, Vicki will guide you through the authentic Plateau style using premium waxed linen and hemp. You’ll leave with a completed work of art—either a round basket necklace or a flat basket.

In Softening the Blow, South Korean multidisciplinary artist Kyung-jin Kim repurposes industrial warning signals—sirens, beacons, and knocking mechanisms—to explore the "insidious exclusion" faced by immigrant communities. By soundproofing and slowing these kinetic objects, Kim creates a psychological mirror of the invisible social barriers and microaggressions that accumulate over time.
Experience this immersive kinetic inquiry into tension, hypervigilance, and the persistent pressure of being pushed to the margins.

This past Saturday marked the second Somatic Resonance workshop and the final day of Terra Solarium. We spent the afternoon exploring the intersection of body and earth—moving from internal rhythm to the tangible substrates of the exhibition.
