Yesterday, my quilt came back from its adventures in NYC! So grateful and so impressed with the quilting done by Miguel @nuyoricanquilts - and with his recommendation for the color of the backing fabric, based on the blue that was originally in the flag of Puerto Rico. 🩵 Minky backings are wild to work with, so even though I wasn’t going to touch it yesterday because my to-do list is forever long, I trimmed it up, decided to use the colors of the flags of the countries in the Americas for the binding, and even remembered to stitch the binding to the back first! 🙌 I’ll post more pictures showing off Miguel’s quilting soon, but it stopped raining so we did all the yard work today, including cleaning up all those pine needles, and I’m so tired. Good thing I have a cozy quilt to fall asleep on the couch with, dreaming about days when we all recognize that we’re all so much better together. Go give Miguel a follow - he’s so good!!

What’s better than one mini-Daylesford? Two mini-Daylesfords! I tried to give them away at the park in downtown Redmond today but did not find any takers. Will try again another day! Pattern: Daylesford by @jenkingwell Fabrics: @rubystarsociety

Hand embroidery finished, imperfect but full of emotion. I have to hang on to the hope that indeed we can and we will. We all know it’s a lot out there, but we can and we will. Time to read up on the trimming instructions, decide if it stays square or goes off-kilter when trimmed (I think we all know it’s going off-kilter), and then get it sent off to Sarah @ruthlesslyhandmade to join up with the other Hope-full quotes and blocks in the Hold It Closer quilt. We can. And we will. #holditcloserquilt #hope #groupproject

I have zero chill. But it seems better. Also painting a chair and recovering its seat are way more fun than pulling weeds. I just don’t know if I can wait the full 48 hours to attach the seat. I’m going to try, so I don’t mess up the paint. 💖

I picked up a couple of free solid and sturdy chairs today, because keep them out of the landfill, and who doesn’t need more projects?? 😅 This thrifted half yard of home dec fabric is my current plan, possibly for both chairs but undecided at the moment. I’d not dream of painting the caned chair, but what do you think about painting the arm chair? It has enough stain dings that it’s going to need something.

I feel like there’s a case to be made for quilting this baby Daylesford with each of these threads options… The only reason I’m not automatically defaulting to the beautiful variegated is I’m really loving 40wt for quilting right now. 💖 Which/how many of these threads would you use? I joined these blocks and put them up on the wall and then remembered to take pictures of them so I can look back and track my Dear Jane progress. So here are A12 and A13 - so that’s Row A complete (sort of), plus a few Row B and Row F blocks. My brain is currently satisfied with tiny piecing, so I’m on to quilting a pattern test quilt for a friend who is releasing her pattern soon! I’m excited to finish this up and get some Quilt in the Wild pictures of it. 🌊⛴️ #dearjane #dearjanerowa

Certainly there are far more perfect A10 blocks in the Dear Jane world, but this one almost made me give up - almost. There are no A10 blocks more done-r than this one is done though! Loving this detour back into the Dear Jane blocks - I’ve gone from 5 done to 14 done ish - two of those need appliqués. 🫣 Thanks to Celeste @meerkatshweshwe for cheering me on this afternoon! 🪡💖 #dearjanequilt #appliqueisnotmysuperpower

A different label was added to this quilt that I made to gift to someone, as the Redmond Senior quilters gathered 38 quilts today to donate to the Redmond Fire Department, for them to have available to comfort members of the community in a time of need. I’m counting this as quilt 10 in my 2026 totals, and hoping that none of these quilts are ever needed, yet grateful that they are available. As one of the younger members of the group, I somehow got designated as the “sorority squat” person. 🤷🏻‍♀️😅 Grateful to the @redmondwafire for stopping by to collect the quilts , and grateful for all that they do.

Remember when I hot-glued the felt garland to the wall as part of our Christmas decorations? Yeah, that didn’t go super well for the wall. I’ve been putting off doing the touch-ups, mainly because I was putting off going through our paint (we didn’t have the right color anyway) and then forgetting to stop at the paint store to get more. But yesterday I remembered! I even got the laundry room color to touch up along the line where I added caulk sometime in the past. 🤦🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️ Thanks again to Anna @oneresetaday for the reminder that little jobs do add up. And I’m already smiling when I walk past these, instead of that internal dread of why have I still not taken care of that… Shout out to @mallorypaintstore and @benjaminmoore for tracking my colors in the system, in case I forget what’s where.

I hacked this shirt last night, after seeing @arwynn.clawson do a couple of them like this. So quick and easy and satisfying! I took in the side seams by about 6” total, and am thrilled with the flounce the sleeves ended up with. I’ve had this shirt in my “could be quilt fabric” pile for a while - now I just have the bulk of the sleeves and the length off the back available. 💖
