๐ทMY FEMME DIARY ๐ท
I just wanted to take a moment to thank everyone for the magic that happened on July 25th, in โจ FRESNO, CA โจ. Thank you @thejoycoreproject for very generously opening up your space to a smaller artist like myself and for these photos capturing the event. So much of their message is aimed towards healing through creativity and community. I couldnโt possibly think of a better space to hold this event. In uncertain and unjust times creativity, joy, expression, and being able to lean on one another and connect is resistance.
Thank you to all 23 of the artists who contributed their pieces. I was astounded by your perspective and the gallery was beautiful. I found myself in tears reading through the submissions. ๐
Thank you to all my friends and family who helped me put this together. I needed help and support and you were all there for me. You know who you are. I love you guys! ๐ซ
*The links in my bio offer the 47 page digital version of My Femme Diary with all artists submissions and a couple extra visuals I used throughout the event (a few submissions came in late, but I still wanted to include them). You can also now order a 44 page physical copy with ALL the artists included at a lower cost (10$ each).
Iโm always blown away by community, I canโt wait to see what we accomplish together next. Continue creating and continue showing up for one another other.

Howdy folks! ๐๐ผ
My name is Blu (She/They), Iโm a queer artist from the Central Valley. I practice painting, drawing, photography, collaging, and poetry. Iโve been creating art and writing poetry for 10 years, and I have been doing photography for about 2/3 years now. Expressing myself creatively has always come naturally to me since I was a teenager. Over the years close friends of mine have encouraged me to share my art, and my heart always feels so full when people tell me they can relate to what Iโm trying to get across.
You can catch me at community events, open mics, sip and spins, etc. Iโm a bit of a music nerd and collect vinyl, I have probably over 500 records at this point. I love all things vintage, but hyper fixate on 60s-70s (a lot of my collages come from vintage material) . Iโm inspired by the music I listen to, the people I meet, nature, and heavy emotion. Iโm always open to collaborating and brainstorming to bring your vision to life within art & photography. Donโt be afraid to send me a DM or say hi. ๐
Iโve always been cautious of sharing my face on here because there are times where I really spill my guts on here, but Iโve learned to find value in vulnerability. ๐

I felt very honored to be in the presence of all the artists, creators, talent, spiritual guidance, live art, workshops, and community members who were graciously sharing their gifts. Very high vibrational, wholesome event surrounded by art. Picked up lots of self care items & prints, I canโt wait for the next one. ๐ต๐ฑโ๏ธ

2/16/2026 IS OUR HARD CUTOFF FOR OUR INTEREST LIST.
NOT TO SUBMIT. LET US KNOW IF YOU ARE INTERESTED BY THEN! THANK YOU.
first and foremost, we want to say thank you for showing love and encouragement. we are really excited for this project. we have a lot to say on our own, but wanted to extend our hand out.
letโs start off with explaining what this project is.
last year, we built our community project around a simple saying: for the birds. it became a way to create space for voices that are often dismissed or overlooked. this year, we wanted to go bigger and wider โ to create a project that can hold multiple truths at once. rather than focusing on one idea, this project invites people to share their stories, how they feel, what theyโve seen, what theyโve lived through, and the experiences that have shaped them. itโs about personal lives and collective memory, about documenting real moments and real people, and offering a platform for the stories that make up the city of fresno/central valley.
the process for this year is the same as last.
the only thing that really has changed is we want to be able to accommodate and share the work of artists whose medium goes beyond that of a magazine.
so with that being said, ALL art forms welcome.
we will find a way for you to contribute.
8.5 x 11 Pages
1-2 Page Limit
Beware the bleed line.
Now Accepting: poetry, short stories and literature, photography (film, digital, or phone), drawings, illustrations, sketches, painting and mixed media, video work, music and sound pieces, documentaries, short films, fashion photography, fashion design, zines, printed matter, and personal archives โ and honestly, if all youโve got is one photo, one page, one song, or one moment*, thatโs more than enough.
If you need help or have any questions at all.
please reach out.

I know the year isnโt over, but I just realized that so much has happened in 2025 for 60sblu. I made countless flyers to promote events and projects, used art for fundraising for charity, put out 9 zines, made commissions, featured in othersโ zines, hosted events, started vending again, given opportunities to shine a light on other local artists and poets, many photography sessions, collaborated with over 30+ artists, read poetry all year long at many events; No Filter, Loud Mouth Poetry Fest, Tower Porch Fest, Jazz Tuezdayz, and Lit Hop (A dream of mine), and more. Wrote poetry continuously, made over 60 pieces, made new friends, and put myself out there. This year my art account started with 200 followers and has tripled since then. They are small victories, but they have meant the world to me. I stoped hating myself. I gave myself credit where it was due. For the longest time it felt like I was begging for the people in my life to notice my creative efforts and I shouldnโt have ever had to do such a thing. I pushed myself and created for the sake of needing self expression. Along the way Iโve met people who believed in me and appreciated me. You know who you are. Thank you for taking the time to see me through my creations in the hustle and bustle of life. There are times where I have no idea what is next as life throws its curveballs and the universe offers me new opportunities that keep me busy, I am always being pulled in many directions, but for now I just wanted to express gratitude for every opportunity and every person who has shown interest in my creative endeavors.
