I am BEYOND proud of these incredible humans for their FIRST EVER street dance comp 🤯
Not only did they smash it out of the park, but they were also moved up a category a week before the event. Meaning they competed with the next level up of dancers AND had less music allowance than others in their group.
BUT THEY STILL TOOK HOME THE TITLE 🤯🎉💃

Created from the perspective of a young female in a world who underestimates her, we are taken on a journey through the multi-faceted world of discovering who we are. Which often comes after discovering who we are not. Ultimately finding comfort in the strength of our character.
These absolute legends smashed their performance and received GLOWING feedback from the panel...
✍️🗨️'This was an incredibly powerful piece which was delivered with a quiet confidence from the group. The choreography was strong and fierce, and allowed us to see the dancers as a group but also as individuals. There was a strong sense of community which empowered the piece and resulted in gorgeous transitions and unique formations.'
Now we just have to wait for the next contact with our fingers and toes crossed that they make it through to the national platform! Eeeek!

These films have grown from spending time in my beloved fenlands over the last few years, courtesy of a residency with @nnfest . Collaborating with young people and dancers to document this incredible landscape and the people in it, in heartfelt and poetic ways.
