Designed and performed by the same team that created Kaleider’s Arch 🧊🔥, Requiem is a contemporary requiem for life on this planet. A theatre performance combining large-scale kinetic installation and an original musical score. A song of labour, voice, beauty, and hope.
It has been an incredible journey to get here. We couldn’t have done this without help.

FESTIVAL 2026 | HEARTWOOD
Extra Show Added! 🚨
At the end of a sold out three week run of HEARTWOOD, there will be an extra show at 2pm, SATURDAY 23rd MAY.
Heartwood explores the very edge of human endurance. The worlds of an ultramarathon runner, arboriculturist and transplant surgeon collide in a moving, contemporary parable about gift-giving. A ground-breaking collaboration between, Norwich-based curious directive, NHS Blood and Transplant and New Earth Theatre, Heartwood marks the company’s return to Norfolk & Norwich Festival for the first time in a decade, with a long run in their own venue.

FESTIVAL 2026 | Pavel Kolesnikov & Samson Tsoy
Last night we were treated to a breathtaking concert from @kolesnikovpianist & @samson_tsoy in the Halls. Their four-hand performance brought both intimacy and intensity to works by Stravinsky and Schubert, captivating audiences from the very first note.
Shared in the round at @thehallsnorwich during sunset, it was a truly unforgettable night. Thank you to everyone who joined us for this very special concert.

FESTIVAL 2026 | Welcome Weekend
Still thinking about last weekend…Norwich brought the sunshine and you brought the energy, turning out in your thousands as the city came alive with an incredible weekend of outdoor performances. A huge thank you to all our amazing artists, to @withoutwalls.uk for supporting their work, and to everyone who joined us.
And the week ahead is packed. From Thursday, The Band Stand fills the Festival Gardens with free live music, while The North Shore to Paradise arrives at Studio Baum. Over at The Halls, An Evening with Cowboy Junkies takes to the stage, and Kaleider’s Requiem brings a powerful, large-scale performance to the weekend.
There’s even more to explore across the city, from en route continuing in the streets of Norwich to Heartwood on Elm Hill, plus a vibrant mix of jazz, theatre and visual art popping up throughout the festival.
And of course, the Festival Gardens are open for business! Including tonight’s late with @matthewherbertmusic@momokogill
Move over empty shops - an empty pub is where we’re at! Introducing… THE KIDZ ARMS opens Sat 16 May at 10am - commissioned by @nnfest and @aceagrams , dreamt up by the kids of Swaffham - do you want a fight or pint? Alcohol free - dodgy tea and pints of OJ - free and for everyone.
