The Rift, produced by 4Pi Productions, is officially screening at Dome Fest West — showing at the Fiske Planetarium. 🌌✨
Congratulations Janire Najera and Matt Wright!
The Rift is a pulsating fusion of contemporary dance, cinematic imagery and immersive sound, with water as its unifying element. Set across Zimbabwe’s diverse landscapes, the film brings together multiple dancers in a shared choreography where the boundaries between natural and built environments dissolve, forming a poetic symphony of movement, texture and rhythm.

We’re delighted to have been involved in the Bradford Digital Creatives project last year. As part of the programme, we installed our 3 metre dome at the National Science and Media Museum, where the gallery welcomed more than 35,000 visitors between June and September!
It was fantastic to contribute to the project throughout the year, delivering a workshop on fulldome media production and supporting young people as they explored creative technology. The overall project reached over 3,000 students across tens of schools, who explored artforms such as audio storytelling, 360Âş video, games design, and projection mapping.
We wish the National Science and Media Museum the very best of luck with their nomination for Best Use of Digital at the Museums + Heritage Awards!
✨ Experience a beloved Christmas story in a whole new way this December…
Clara & The Nutcracker, a world-first fulldome digital immersive experience, brings the favourite festive tale to life in the Schwarzman Centre for the Humanities’ Black Box space.
Inspired by David Nixon CBE’s ballet and shaped by University of Oxford academics, it brings together 360° footage of Northern Ballet’s dancers and behind-the-scenes moments captured by 4Pi Productions. Richly animated fantasy scenes unfold alongside Tchaikovsky’s iconic score, performed by the BBC Concert Orchestra. 🎶
Discover the magic of Clara’s journey from the inside out and explore dance in a whole new way: up close, all around you, and beyond the stage. 💫

In 2025, 4Pi Productions created an interactive immersive experience at Maesteg Town Hall to mark Remembrance through local voices, memory and reflection.
People of all ages were invited to move through a series of thought-provoking installations inspired by wartime memories shared by local veterans and the wider community.
Visitors experienced a range of audiovisual works, including interactive pieces such as the poppies projection mapping, and a large-scale Mametz Wood painting on stage that slowly revealed itself using camera sensors.
One of the most special spaces was the Room of Reflection, a candle-lit mirrored environment created in close collaboration with the local community.
Commissioned by Awen Cultural Trust, who shared:
“The creative and professional team were great to work with, and the process was open, honest, flexible and positive. The exhibition was a great success, and we received lovely feedback from our visitors.”
#2016 Among many immersive projects, the 4Pi team launched CULTVR in 2016 as a digital platform connecting audiences with contemporary arts and culture from across Wales, using immersive technologies such as 3D scanning and 360° filming.
It wasn’t until the end of 2019 that CULTVR evolved into the physical immersive venue we know today. Looking back at that moment reminds us how long 4Pi has been experimenting with immersive media, and how proud we are to see CULTVR grow into a thriving space that welcomes visitors from Wales and beyond, year after year.
Here’s to another 10 years of pioneering immersive experiences🥂
As the year wraps up and after the premiere of The Rift at IDFA Doc Lab, we thought it was the perfect moment to show you a bit of what goes on behind the cameras and computers at 4Pi.
Massive thanks to everyone who helped bring our 5th fulldome dance film to life, especially @afrikeraartstrust , @matambafilmlabs and @britishcouncil .
We can’t wait to share the film with even wider audiences next year. And there’s more to come in 2026…
Collaborating with artists we genuinely admire is what makes nights like this so special, and @ishmaelensemble gave us an experience that will stay with us for a long time!
Their unique blend of jazz, electronica and atmospheric soundscapes came alive in the dome, creating a performance that felt both intimate and expansive. The audience was wrapped in an audio-visual journey where every moment felt alive and evolving.
Huge thanks to @4piproductions for the immersive visuals.
As part of Cardiff music City Festival. @cardiffmusiccity
And a big thank you to @talustudiosuk for the video.
