“I genuinely do believe that working just four days a week has given me more capacity to understand my health and the health of others.
It’s really changed what I do with my body.”

A four-day week on full pay could slash Britain’s obesity levels by giving millions the time they need to ditch bad habits and make healthier choices.
We’d love to hear from any 4-day week orgs where people have found that more free time allows them to be more active / make healthier choices - leave us a comment if that’s you!
We hope everyone is enjoying their Bank Holiday, but imagine having an extra day off work every single week.
A 4-day week for is no longer a pipe dream. It’s the future of work, but we’re going to have to fight for it.
Together we can win a 4-day week. Support the campaign via the Crowdfunder in our bio.

On May 1st, 1926, Henry Ford became the first major employer to announce a 5-day week in his factories (down from 6).
So: Happy 100th Birthday to the 5-day week.
Now, please retire. 🎈
Today marks 100 years of the weekend. We’ve assembled outside Ford’s Dagenham plant - the birthplace of the five-day week - to say: a century of this model is enough.
The world has changed. Technology has advanced. It’s time our working week caught up.

Remember: they thought moving from a 6 to a 5-day week wouldn’t work in 1926.
Their arguments were wrong then and they’re wrong now, too.
We’ve had 100 years of the standard 5-day work week.
If technology has moved forward, the working week should as well.
It’s time for change.
