A new space. A fresh start. We’re proud to share that we’ve started welcoming young people home at 3900 3rd Street, our new transitional housing site designed to provide stability, safety, and support! At 3rd Street, we’re honored to operate the site and provide on-site support services, including intensive case management, health and wellness resources, financial assistance, and workforce development—helping young people build stability and move forward. This milestone would not be possible without our partners, including the San Francisco Department of Homelessness and Supportive Housing, Housing Accelerator Fund, the Mayor’s Office of Housing and Community Development (@sfmohcd ), and the MacArthur Foundation. Together, we are creating more than housing, we are creating spaces of stability and care for young people who need support, safety, and a place to begin again. #WeAre3rdStreetYouth

Last year @3rdstyouth_ invited the youth of Bayview to come to the Umoja HAP site for a 3-part workshop series called Safe Sex Summer. When they walked through our doors they were immediately surrounded by peers who understand and adults who’ve been there without judgement. Each day of the workshop, they got to ask unfiltered questions that explored sexuality, peer pressure and healthy relationship. With raffles, interactive games and Chipotle, they got to be themselves without judgement and explore topics that they don’t have all the answers to. 3rd Street will be doing another round of Safe Sex Summer soon, so make sure you keep up with all our socials to tap into the this year’s sessions. #UmojaHAP #SafeSexSummer #PeerSupport #3rdStreetYouth

Did you know that nearly 4 in 10 women globally faced food insecurity in the past year, and nearly 1 in 3 struggled to afford housing? (Source: @hologic ) These realities are a reminder that health is deeply connected to stability and access. It’s #NationalWomensHealthWeek and we’re focused on making sure the young women in our community have access to equitable, culturally responsive care. At 3rd Street, we understand that health goes beyond clinical care—it’s shaped by stability, access, and the resources people need to thrive. If you or someone you know needs support, visit the link in our bio to learn more and get connected to our team today. #WeAre3rdStreetYouth

A special thank you to all of the young people who attended our SHOUT Listening Session at the Lower Polk TAY Navigation Center! We’re still reflecting on the powerful conversations about what health and wellness truly look like for young San Franciscans, and the possibilities for how we can better support them. Your participation helps shape the programs and services we build to better support young people across our community. A big shout out to our friends at @umojahap for their partnership and support in making this event possible. Stay tuned for the next session, and be sure to follow along for more opportunities to share your voice. #WeAre3rdStreetYouth

Mental health is more than just care. It’s stability. It’s community. It’s access. It looks like a young person having a place to call home. It looks like access to care without barriers. It looks like community, stability, and support. At 3rd Street, we know mental health isn’t one-dimensional; it’s shaped by the environments young people are navigating every day. That’s why our work goes beyond services. We’re building pathways to stability, connection, and long-term wellbeing. We are here for you this #MentalHealthAwarnessMonth, and every day after. 3rd Street pulled up to the HAP site with their Shout Mixers to create a space where youth can truly be themselves alongside people who share their experiences. It is all about building a community where you do not have to hide who you are. “It is good to know that this is a safe space. Being around people that are the same color as me, same age as me, it helps. I am getting not only knowledge, but support systems and more outlets that I can go to in this community.” That feedback is exactly why we partners with orgs like @3rdstyouth_ who bring events specifically made for you. 3rd Street is bringing another round of programming that lets you hang out and connect while staying on top of your health. Knowing your status is the vibe you should catch. See us at the HAP site today from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM to Know Your Status and stay for free food, prizes, and access to condoms. We are keeping the conversation about sexual health real through activities that actually keep you engaged. Come through and get what you need. #UmojaHAP #KnowYourStatus #Testimonials #STIAwareness

🏡 Fair Housing Month – April 🏡 As a Bayview Hunters Point-based organization, we recognize Fair Housing Month and the history of redlining and housing discrimination that has deeply impacted our community. This map of San Francisco shows how neighborhoods were once color-coded to decide where banks would give loans and invest—and where they would not. 🔴 Red: Neighborhoods labeled “risky” and denied investment 🟡 Yellow: Seen as “less desirable” with limited support 🔵 Blue: Considered “good” areas for investment 🟢 Green: Prioritized as the “best” neighborhoods This system shaped where families could live, buy homes, and build wealth—and its effects are still felt today. We remain committed to advancing housing equity, justice, and access for all. Everyone deserves safe, stable housing free from discrimination. Learn more, get involved, or support housing equity and community efforts in our area. #FairHousingMonth #BayviewHuntersPoint #HousingEquity #FairHousing
