Been a little quiet over here…
But only because we’ve been outside working. Grateful to have spent the last few weeks focused on PUMA with an amazing team behind us. Now we’re back and ready to pour back into our space + the people around it.
Something’s coming this month. more soon!
Our studio in LA — built for both shoots + events 🎬
White cyc, lighting + grip included, easy load-in
Works for photo/video, content days, panels, pop-ups, and small gatherings (even engagement proposals 🥹💞)
Open this week if anyone needs a space! 👀
We’ve been a little quiet lately because we’ve been hard at work behind the scenes in pre-production for PUMA.
Got the cast together today for a table read and camera test. We were nervous and excited for today, as it was the first time for our lead cast members to be in the same room together. They did not disappoint!
We’re about 2.5 weeks out from production and after today’s table read and camera test, we’re even more excited to get out there and make some movie magic happen.
Thank you to everyone who’s supported us on our PUMA journey! We couldn’t do this without y’all.
When @poooka reached out about hosting her kimjang birthday party, it was an immediate YES.
For those who don’t know, kimjang is a traditional Korean practice of making large batches of kimchi — typically in late fall — to last through the winter. Families and neighbors gather to prep Napa cabbage, salting, rinsing, and seasoning it with garlic, fish sauce, and more, before packing it into containers to ferment for months.
It’s deeply rooted in community, sharing, and family tradition.
A @30itm.studio first — but definitely not the last. We love seeing all the different ways this small but mighty space can come to life.
Sonia, thank you for celebrating with us and bringing a piece of your family and tradition into our creative home 🫶
Our kimchi is still fermenting… will report back 😬

THE MAKING OF “PUMA”
EP.1 THE LOCATION SCOUT
It’s been a minute! Thank you for your patience while we take these next steps. Come along as we piece this all together. Starting with a trip to Nebraska for location scouts. It’s a long one, but you’ll see why this is going to be special.
A lot of long nights behind the scenes, pushing to bring this film to life the right way. We feel the pressure, but it’s the kind that reminds us why this is important.
Locations confirmed.
Cast + crew locked.
Shoot dates set.
Now it’s real.
Production starts.
It’s happening..
Love to the cast, crew and all of our contributors. We’re excited to be on this journey with you.

Last week’s Lao Night Market 🇱🇦 💫
One of our favorite parts of having the studio is bringing different communities together and creating space to connect.
In the almost year since opening, we’ve seen so much beautiful cross-pollination and it never gets old!
Thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate the end of our PUMA crowdfund and enjoy some amazing food and company.
Looking to host your own community event? DM us! ✨
We are still soaking in everything from our first ever Lao Night Market! 🇱🇦
What started as a way to celebrate the PUMA crowdfund turned into something so much bigger. Seeing so many people from our community show up, eat together, laugh together, and support a Lao story honestly meant more than we can put into words.
With the help of 132 incredible supporters, we raised $21.4K to produce our first short film! That kind of belief and generosity is overwhelming in the best way. Every single person who donated, shared, pulled up, or cheered us on helped make this moment possible.
Thank you to everyone who came out last Friday and helped fill the space with so much warmth and love. And a huge thank you to @laos_angeles for helping us bring this night to life and for always uplifting Lao creatives and culture.
We are endlessly grateful to our amazing vendors -

It feels so special to be able to build community through food, art, and storytelling, and to do it inside our own studio makes it even more meaningful. This night reminded us why we opened @30itm.studio in the first place.
We had so much fun that we might have to do a Lao Night Market round two!
If you were there, let us know in the comments. We would love to hear what the night meant to you too. 💙
“PUMA” | IZAAC LEARNS HOW TO MAKE THUM MAK HOONG
It’s been a delight to watch @izaac_wang in these early stages of development for “PUMA”. He’s been wanting to learn more about his Lao side from the language, food, history and family origins.
We thought it would be fun for him to learn how to make a staple Lao dish, Thum Mak Hoong aka Papaya Salad (Lao style). Who better to learn from than his amazing chef mother @eating_with_meng
Here are some of our favorite moments :) Watch the full video on our YouTube channel.
MENG’S THUM MAKING HOONG RECIPE
1. Get Green papaya and shred it in strips; varying lengths give texture. Keep it to the side.
2. Make your sauce in a mortar & pestle (sak+cok) with thai chillies (to your liking) and smash!
3. To make your sauce add; 1 teaspoon of fermented crab paste.
4. Add 1 teaspoon of shrimp paste.
5. Add a cluster of split cherry tomatoes and add them into the mortar.
6. Add 1 Tablespoon of sugar, but adjust to your liking.
7. Add 2 Tablespoons of “padaek” (fermented fish sauce).
8. Add 1 Tablespoon of lime juice, adjust to your intensity.
9. Finally, 1 teaspoon of tamarind sauce.
10. Mix well in the mortar and serve alongside pork cracklings or cabbage.
Izaac won’t be cooking tomorrow at our *LAO NIGHT MARKET at @30itm.studio BUT we will have Thum provided by @jeffrattanong ’s mother, Rhonda along with other amazing vendors! Maderr maderrrrr!
“PUMA” | WE HIT OUR GOAL! 🙏🏽
