Working in logistics prior to joining the @usafreserve , he said the financial and skill broadening benefits are what led him to take this life-changing step. Following #bmt , Zeno is slated to join the 307th Civil Engineering Squadron as a structural maintenance specialist.

CHIEF'S CHOICE | Senior Airman Sophia Capdepon, assigned to the 307th Civil Engineer Squadron, is all smiles as she accepts the Chief's Choice Award May 3, 2026 . Capdepon was chosen for the award by active duty and Reserve chief master sergeants from across @teambarksdale for her outstanding efforts during the quarter. Among those was revitalizing a $2.1 million aircraft barrier system, modernizing a 65-year-old electrical grid by converting 42 miles of overhead powerlines to underground lines, and installing eight fuel tanks for the U.S. Department of Wildlife and Fisheries. Trainee Juan Mantilla is #TakingOff and headed to basic military training this week. Upon completion of #BMT, Mantilla is scheduled to return to the 307th Force Support Squadron as a data engineer. "I decided to join the Air Force Reserve to serve this country because of all the opportunities it has given to me and to my family," said Mantilla. He also shared that he is excited about the career and professional growth that will come with his enlistment. Congrats to you Trainee Mantilla! SUSTAINING THE LEGACY | The 307th Bomb Wing hosted cadets from the Civil Air Patrol Louisiana Wing at Barksdale Air Force Base for a B-52 Stratofortress orientation tour, connecting retired pilots, active-duty aircrew from the 96th Bomb Squadron, and the young people who may one day carry this mission forward. The B-52 will still be flying in 2050. GIVING BACK | Senior Airman Kirklynn Usher of the 307th Logistics Readiness Squadron brought that spirit to Apollo Elementary School’s Field Day, volunteering his time to help students compete, learn, and have fun. From recording times and organizing brackets to guiding young athletes through each event, he helped create a day full of energy, encouragement, and connection. “It was truly a great experience… that experience set the tone for how impactful it can be to engage with the community on a personal level—not just as a military member, but as someone genuinely invested in the people we serve.” His commitment reflects the heart of the Air Force Reserve: Airmen who serve their nation and uplift their communities. MONTH OF THE MILITARY CHILD | While we celebrate military children year-round, this month gives special recognition to their incredible strength and #resilience. Military-connected kids often move 6–9 times during their school years—continually adapting to new schools, friendships, and communities. Their flexibility, courage, and positive spirit deserve to be honored. Today, the @bossierchamber is celebrating the 3,600 military-connected children in Northwest Louisiana by lighting the Texas Street Bridge purple at 7:30 p.m., following a proclamation at 6:30 p.m. The 307th Bomb Wing is deeply grateful to the Bossier City and Shreveport communities for not only welcoming our #CitizenAirmen, but for embracing and supporting our children as well.
