@explanationsfromexile curates experiences designed for real-time encounter. As such we approach documentation with restraint, attentive to the risk of flattening what is meant to be embodied and relational.
But as we move into the 2026 grant season, it felt important to reflect on the multilayered community healing work of 2025—work that could only happen through the support and partnership of those who stood with us.
The debut of the ARS MORIENDI experience was preceded by a series of pop-up curbside healing sites in Boston, targeting neighborhoods historically impacted by high rates of violence. EFE partnered with Ebony LePenn of the Anthony P. Clay Healing Project, Meaka Brown, of Babe’s Herbal Boutique, and Messi Amaru’Khan of @solinspiredopenmic to provide free healing offerings including herbal consultations and products, sound bowl sessions and express reiki.
None of our efforts would have been possible without the support of our community partners, @sparkfmonline , @healthehoodhth , and sponsorships from Greater Grove Hall Main Streets, @utec.inc Training Center 4 Excellence, @the_hoodlyfe , and @peaceinstitute .

For City Hall Plaza to be the official home for our first installment of the ARS MORIENDI, a sonic ritual grounded in truth, spiritual passage, and radical remembrance—is an understatement to the power of restorative justice. What began as a postponed performance has grown into a public altar.
