On May 25th Epiphany Records will have a ambient album release party for ‘Souther’ by OC Parietal at Huidenclub OC Parietal (moniker of Olivia van Leest) is an interdisciplinary artist based in Tilburg, the Netherlands. Her debut album ‘Souther’ was produced in the fall of 2023 and will be released on the 24th of May 2024 via the FLINTA* label Epiphany Records. This album, woven with threads of sorrow, is a reflection of the artists last two years. From relocating from The Hague to Tilburg, to the departure of a close friend, and the struggle along the complicated pathways of navigating love, and the sudden absence of it. The loss of places and people, but also the belonging is mirrored in sound through melodic ambient, drone noise, field recordings and minimalistic sound design. There will be an ambient DJ set played by Deve (Marit Fokkink), a local selector known for their work in nightlife and various cultures, followed by a live performance of ‘Souther’ by OC Parietal.
