Labels like Columbia's Propeller arm began backing the movement, while musicians fresh from the GS circuit looked for rougher ground. The result: loud, exploratory cuts from a scene shaking off industry polish and chasing its own path. Starting as a beauty pageant contestant, she soon ventured into music, taking inspiration from the garage rock of the late 1960s. Hit Album is an early J Pop rarity that shows the true size, scope, and diversity of 60’s pop, containing a mix of covers and original songs.
