Such a perfect combination, with the purity of children’s minds

May 2026. Sometimes it feels like effort doesn’t quite land where it’s meant to. not everything needs to fall on myself. I’ve done what I could, and I know I haven’t failed anyone (though in some sense I obviously failed). That should be enough, even if it doesn’t always feel that way. I don’t ask for much, just a little calm, a way to move through the days without this weight though lately that hasn’t come easily.

What lies behind 𝐃𝐨𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐁𝐥𝐮𝐞? Join Florence Yuk-ki Lee for a conversation on the concepts, research, creative processes, and behind -the-scenes development of 𝐃𝐨𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐁𝐥𝐮𝐞: 𝐀𝐧 𝐀𝐥𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐅𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐲𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐇𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐊𝐨𝐧𝐠. Beyond the artist’s visual interpretations, the exhibition incorporates a participatory dimension, inviting visitors to become storytellers. We invite you to start from the nuances of daily life and gather the whispers scattered within. In this space outlined by two trajectories of Double Blue - the sea and the sky, the city’s "Altered Fairy Tale" begins to form. Florence Yuk-ki Lee continues her long-term exploration of “topophilia” through experimental animation, transforming Hong Kong’s urban imagery and fairytale structures into an “Altered Fairytale” — where the ocean chronicles the city’s historical time and the sky articulates emotional states. These two blue trajectories intersect within the exhibition space, where the city’s narrative unfolds at the meeting point of tidal waves and flight paths, shaping an unfinished and continually rewritten “Altered Fairytale” — a space suspended between urban landscapes and inner terrain.
