Valentina Magaletti is a drummer-composer and multi-instrumentalist with an inventive approach to drums and percussion. Her versatile technique, which can incorporate anything from vibes and marimba to contact microphones and found objects, results in a style that is forever evolving. Feeling just as comfortable performing behind a delicate ceramic kit as she does hammering out motorik rhythms, her creative take on percussion has resulted in a diverse discography and many interesting collaborations.
On 27 May we welcome you to the Teatrino at Palazzo Grassi for a lecture performance & listening session that is at once a concert, a narrative and a manifesto.
The event is part of Long Playing, the music series curated by Nicola Di Croce and Francesco Bergamo (SSH! Sound Studies Hub, Iuav University of Venice), dedicated to listening to music releases in the auditorium space. The artists don’t present — they inhabit the room, accompany the listening, open up the sound. The title comes from the vinyl record, the LP: the format that, since the post-war years, redefined the way an album is heard, owned and lived in.

Seven years ago, we started with a question. What could Venice become, if we just tried?
No sponsors. No big names pulled from the rolodex. No institutional hand reaching down to say: yes, you may. Just a stubborn, romantic belief that this city — ancient and wounded and wildly alive — deserved a different kind of night.
Since 2019, 100__ve has been that night. A voice carried across the water. A screen floating in the dark of the lagoon. A microphone held up to the fog.
We didn’t survive despite the odds. We survived because some things are worth the stubbornness. Because the people who showed up — artists, dreamers, locals who remembered what this city once felt like — kept showing up.

To close the 2026 season, we’re bringing one of the most important names in electronic music to CS Rivolta — a sequence of artists you rarely get to see in Italy.
Mala @maladmz is one of the founding figures of dubstep and one of the most influential forces in UK underground music. As a member of Digital Mystikz and co-founder of Deep Medi Musik, he helped shape a sound that changed the course of electronic music entirely. His sets are not just DJ sets — they’re something closer to a ritual. Deep, heavy, hypnotic. The kind of experience that stays with you.
Meanwhile, in the Teatro, Klang @thisis.klang , the Rome-based collective that has been quietly building one of Italy’s most interesting experimental music scenes takes over the space with a programme of its own. Jordan Deal presents “Seas of Triple Consciousness” and LOL K presents “Languid Haunt the Trees”: two live performances that push electronics into something more abstract, more personal, more difficult to name. If the main floor is about weight and depth, the Teatro is about texture and unease.

100__ve is an expanded electronic music festival based in Venice — a city that leaves little room for what doesn’t fit, a festival that exists precisely because of that. Built by volunteers, rooted in a space that keeps us grounded, driven by an urgency that hasn’t gone away: to bring alternative culture to a city that needs it.
This season we pushed further. The final chapter is almost here.

Ange Halliwell @ange_halliwell began playing the harp at the age of 12. From the lush countryside of southwest France, he composes music that combines hypnotic arpeggios, layered soundscapes, and voices that are sung, spoken, or screamed. His creations are deeply connected to nature, drawing from a wide range of influences: traditional music, lyricism, and horror. In a holistic project, Ange Halliwell crafts a musical and visual universe that is both luminous and melancholic. Presented with Plural Artist Management as part of 100__ve Expanded Festival 2026.
