Copenhagen marathon @cphmarathon

Delighted to be back in Copenhagen pacing the elite women.
The race had all the elements to keep you on the edge of your seat: a burning hot start, a chasing pack that overtakes, and a debutant crushing it. I was privileged to be able to able to watch it through to 40km when I stepped off.
This was a bit further than I intended to go, but the body cooperated well and doesn’t feel too beat up. Nevertheless, I will still make sure I get some good R&R in before sharpening up for the British 10km road champs at the Manchester 10km at the end of this month.

Not many seemed to get the 2:20 memo but @mercychebwogenkiprono did and it paid off.
Another pacing job down. It's a serious job when it's gets down to it with what is at stake but I still managed to have some fun with it too.

A bit of a last minute dash down to Bath to make the @bristoltrackclub 5km this weekend. Thanks @runner.cal for the invite. Being a new dad these past two weeks has thrown regular rhythms out the window, and as I hiked up the hill from the train station to the race circuit, I did slightly wonder what on earth I was doing. In the end, the body remembered what to do and I felt I ran a tactically aware race (at least @coach_seddon thought so too) to take silver. I gave it a good go in the middle not to give up the win completely but @kadero5k was too strong. Kudos to him.
Having not focused on 5km stuff for a while and in the wind I was pretty pleased to be knocking on the door of sub 14 early doors this season so all boding well for a good summer season.
Excellent to catch up with the @otesportsgb stars @_gavintaylor_ and @adambarber04 and to have a good ding dong battle with the latter round the course. The supergel with caffeine 30min before hit the very necessary spot.

Another great day for @cambandcol securing a bronze medal at the 12 stage @erraenglishroadrunning champs. Also a brillaint 4th B team and 6th place for the women.
It's fantastic to see so many from the club putting aside individual aims to come together for a bigger cause.
My first (?) year in 13/14years giving up team manager duties and handing over to @_isaac_morgan_ and @_matthewmorgan who did a superb job.
It was a privilege to run the anchor leg for the club and pretty happy with my 15:59 time for 5.4km albeit 14s slower than what I ran back in October last year.
No London Marathon for me this year but looking forward to some shorter stuff before an autumn marathon. Choices choices...

This wasn't the race I dreamed about but I did what I always say is the most important thing, which is getting the most out of what your body gives you on the day.
I'm absolutely over the moon for my two teammates @james_teagle (8 week old dad power showing strong) and Dom Jones who both executed an absolutely phenomenal race. Both of these guys have been incredibly selfless training partners for a long time and I couldn't wish for two better guys to beat me.
That being said, they better watch out for the rematch next year. Fighting talk, eh?
To all those that shouted words of encouragement, I heard you all and it certainly buoyed me on.
