@stefanthephotographer about his latest series of photos “To Be King”. Conceived after watching an episode of Merlin, yearning to be back in London during his studies in France, “To Be King” reimagines Black people — Black Brit’s specifically — as dynasty members, rulers and knights, the series also serves as Stefan’s final project for his
@unioftheartslondon masters.
“I just really want to show the toll wearing this armor takes all the time,” he tells me, likening the uniform to the lived experience of Black people navigating racial politics. An illuminating and enlightening discussion.
