@shredenhams , a repurposed department store - turned skatepark in Bristol
Sparkes’ mural blends the cartoonish and the classical, placing strange, almost feral forms in theatrical scenes lit with painterly drama. His compositions—populated by floating pills, caterpillars and symbols, walk a line between satire and sincerity. Sculptural and unsettling, they feel less like depictions of reality and more like still lives of emotional entropy, reflecting the absurdity and chaos of contemporary life, a feeling amplified by the industrial space.
Clubhouse is curated by artist
@richtpaint with the support of the Team at
@campusskateboarding and
@charlotte_pyatt inviting artists to intervene unexpectedly in the retired architecture of consumerism. More to come over the coming weeks
