There was a time after becoming a quadriplegic that I truly believed I’d never ride a bike again. Then I got my handcycle 10 years ago.
I still remember struggling to make it one mile… arms burning, mind doubting, wondering if I’d ever get stronger.
Today, I hit 30 miles. 30 MILES! Half road and half trails!
What once felt impossible became possible through consistency, discipline, and refusing to quit.
Progress doesn’t happen overnight. It happens one push, one mile, one hard day at a time.

Tonight it hit me…
The hardest part about being a father in a wheelchair isn’t the chair itself... It’s not being able to simply pick my babies up, carry them to bed, tuck them in, and hold onto those little moments the way I wish I could.
People see strength in surviving the big battles, but sometimes the heaviest weight is in the smallest things..
The bedtime hugs. The carrying them when they’re half asleep. The simple things most people never think twice about..
That’s the part that hurts.
But being a father was never defined by how I walk, it’s defined by how I show up.
And no chair will ever take that from me.

For some unknown reason, the first thing I do when I get home... yep, I gotta pee. That’s where my Coloplast SpeediCath® steps in!
