Different thoughts invite different expressions and mediums. Torn Graphite and Acrylic with gold and silver leaf on Paper 35x 54.5 During a phone conversation with my friend Lisa, we both felt pulled apart, overextended, and simply had enough — yet we were still able to laugh about it. As I often do, I processed the feeling through drawing. The sketch kept insisting, growing in attention, eventually leading to this artwork. Torn reflects both the uncontrollable external pressures around us and the personal decision to rebuild anyway. No Place for Worry - Resist 50”x 35” It expands on the idea of living within forces outside oneself — withstanding their pressure, and at times quietly dismissing what no longer serves the self. Resolve- Good Spreads 34”x 24” It is the ultimate result: a confident inner peace — not because the world pleases us, but because the troubling no longer troubles us. photo @chris_popio_photography
