An imaginative “sensory breakfast”—a feast for both the eyes and the soul—is about to be served.
Meet the three artists who are masters of both the stage and the ‘kitchen’: Golden Melody Award winner hirsk, video director Yuwen, and interdisciplinary music/dance performer Zoe Chan. Dear my loved ones,
Done two little shows of my very own. Nothing fancy, just simple music, dance and stories. It was great revisiting my past few years, and looked back with both fear and grace. And, sending out some letters that I have forgotten, or simply haven‘t been brave enough to write.
I am forever grateful for @natewong.playsgongs@jezzachu@jbasslines75 . You guys were with me all the time. My stories couldn’t have been told without your love and music, which have given me the safeness to dive into the deepest, darkest yet most authentic part of myself. I felt trusted, not alone, standing on the stage knowing you guys were at my back (literally). Check out some cute moments we had heheeee

🌙 繼12月的首演，能歌善舞的陳素妍（Zoe）將於 2月10日 再度登上「西九夜延場」舞台。這一次，她與鍵盤手朱峻樂Jerold、鼓手黃彥康Nate及低音大提琴手Julz Bernales組成期間限定樂隊，帶來不一樣故事與歌曲。始終如一的，是她真摯動人的歌聲與舞蹈。

🎤 關於 Zoe
陳素妍是香港藝術家及表演者，曾於英國 Bird College 接受音樂劇及舞蹈訓練。她活躍於香港及國際舞台，參與過 香港藝術節、澳門藝術節、OzAsia藝術節 等，並曾在臺中爵士音樂節、M+夜不同、大館 等演出。她的作品跨越劇場與音樂，展現多元而真摯的藝術能量。
✨ Zoe 的表演總是充滿溫度，既是獻給觀眾的信，也是獻給青春、自己與心底最愛之人的告白。
Performer Zoe Chan returns to the WestK Cabaret Nights stage on 10 February, teaming up with keyboardist Jerold Chu, drummer Nate Wong, and bassist Julz Bernales for an evening that moves from jazz standards to songs from musicals. With Love, Zoe is a letter to the past year, to the people who shaped it, and to the version of herself still taking form. Through song, she reflects on transformation, gratitude, and the relationships that anchor us.

🎤 About Zoe
Zoe Chan is a Hong Kong-based artist and performer trained in musical theatre and dance at Bird College, United Kingdom. She has performed with Ontroerend Goed (Belgium) at OzAsia Festival, Hong Kong Arts Festival, and Macao Arts Festival, with notable appearances at Taichung Jazz Festival, Freespace Jazz Fest, M+ at Night and Tai Kwun, etc. Her collaborators include David Glass, Olivia Yan, Wong Jing, as well as Boomtown Festival, HMV Hong Kong, and Fresh Wave.

Some moments from The Next Movement. (delayed it so much and it became an end of year post)
Never done a show with such challenges and insecurities, and had a total technical breakdown the day before opening night. And I’m one of those who created the show.
“Can the show still go on? Will I let everyone down?” I asked myself, many many times.
But we did it, with such grace and composure. My dear teammates you all worked with absolute professionalism and dedication. You guys are just wonderful. I cannot thank you enough. Thanks for tolerating my incapability. (and I know I’ve been pretty stubborn sometimes sorry🦭)
Great challenge comes with great lesson. What a year. Thank you for all the love, truly, cause I don’t know what to do without it.
May the next movement, the unknown ahead of us be unnerving, chaotic, empowering and beautiful :)

It’s just a time for us to move on and grow on our own:) All the wonderful memories and lessons I gained from STEP OUT, connections and inspirations from all you beautiful faces I met throughout these years, will forever be in my heart and become the strength I need for the unknown journey ahead.

面對未知，大概是Zoe在這次演出的創作過程，亦是她現時人生階段其中一個最大課題。
作為舞者和STEP OUT founder，Zoe 也是《The Next Movement》 的編舞及藝術總監。她和團隊從傳統踢躂舞出發，創新設計電子舞鞋，過程中除了面對科技層面的挑戰，更重要是保持開放的心，暫時放下固有的經驗和慣性重新學習。透過重新觀察自己的動作、力度、聲音，學習與未知共同創作。整個經歷，彷彿是舞者去蕪存菁的修行一樣。
而這種既緊張，又充滿期望的心情，彷彿就像我們聽下一首樂章之前的那一刻，亦是Zoe希望透過演出和觀眾一同經歷和分享的感覺。
當傳統踢躂舞揉合科技，會擦出怎樣的火花？
一個突破想像的全新演繹，將在11月揭開序幕。

STEP OUT 及跨界團隊籌備2年，研發出具感應裝置的「電子踢躂舞鞋」，打破傳統舞鞋的限制，為踢躂舞帶來更多可能性。希望與觀眾一同豐富對踢躂舞身份的探討，擴大原有的想像。
演出由 STEP OUT 創辦人兼編舞 #陳素妍 、#CAL，聯同音樂總監 #hirsk、技術總監 #ChakLam 以及劇場導演 #王俊豪，橫跨舞蹈、劇場、音樂及藝術科技界，跨界共同創作！希望透過這雙電子舞鞋將舞者內心最細微的情感放大，讓每一次踏步都成為一句獨白。成為我們身體與情感的延伸，讓我們能以前所未有的方式與觀眾有所共鳴。
