I was going to wait to see if I came up in any pictures from the festival, but it feels far more genuine to post the exactly two (2) pictures I took of @singushomefestival weekend. I sincerely don't know if there's a better encapsulation of the weekend than walking back from checking on my backstage parking team only to find out we needed help on the barricade catching crowd surfers during the Menzingers. (We counted 15 or so) A handful of specific thank yous. @prettygoodsam is a beast and should be commended for his dedication to coming out every year to throw this party. He's one of the people who convinced me that THIS was a thing worth doing as a career. @joe.u.know , @soundguysoifer and @seansv run a TIGHT ship, and have a way of making a punk rock shindig feel like a day at the opera. Jesse has my thanks for allowing me to take his baby (power and wifi) and run away with it for the weekend. @davehause and @timbillhause are saints who I am 90% convinced were avoiding eye contact with us as we desperately tried to guide them on stage during their acoustic welcome ceremony. If I started today and started playing music every day from here until 2072, I still wouldn't play as much as they play this weekend every year. @stroosicle , my coconspirator in this, has dealt with my manic slack messages and emails for the better part of 6 months, and still had the wherewithal to tolerate me sprinting around Venice Island for 3 days straight worrying about an event that everyone told us was "the best its evet been" Last, but certainly not least, @alexbfang is a champion. Of all the "clients" I've worked with, there is no one who I've met who has more of a vested interest in making this thing successful than Alex. He's put in loads of work to make Sing Us Home what it is today, and it shows. There was a moment during this set (the Menzingers) between catching crowdsurfers (chaos) that I made eye contact wtih a kid on their dad's shoulders. It was genuinely the first moment of peace I had felt all weekend. In a world that is what it is, I am BEYOND grateful to know I have event a small part in sustaining small bits of joy like that.

Honestly, not bad for all of 3 hours of sleep. Nature was nice and all, but not enough parking lots or data centers. 2/10 stars.

All good things in good time. Here's to you 28 🤟 a year of settling down, a year of waking up, a year of putting down roots, a year of making plans. I speak (more than enough) in my other posts about the music tning, so I won't mention that here. I just want to thank each and every friend, family member, and stranger I met along the way who helped me become who I am today. Its been a funky little ride, but I'm looking forward to what 29 holds. Cannot wait to be as happy as I am now at 30 (with the knees and back of a 60 year old). Fins up, keep on keepin' on, I'll see you on the road šŸŒ“šŸŽøšŸ–¤

EMERGENCE!Ā  Emergence is a project I started back in 2022 to catalogue the many (many) concerts I had attended that year.Ā  With things like ticket stubs - and even things like physical photo albums - going th way of the dodo, it has become harder and harder to keep track of tangible ā€œmemories.ā€Ā  Expound that to over 700 concerts in the span of four years, and things get even more complicated.Ā Ā  I wanted a way to keep track of all the artists I was having the opportunity to see, and a way to look back on them with some degree of accuracy.Ā  That’s how the Poster Project came to be.Ā Ā  ā€œEmergenceā€ for those who don’t know, came out of 2022 being one of the first years that you could actually ā€œgoā€ see concerts, post-Covid.Ā  The term developed for me to be more about the philosophical definition, and in the last four years, its been about leaning into my tag line of ā€œJoy in the World Unknown.ā€Ā Ā  I don’t have to tell anyone, but these are crazy, stressful times.Ā  ā€œJoy,ā€ feels like its coming at a premium, and sometimes with the news, and the state of the world, there can almost be a feeling of guilt to experience joy.Ā  I think because of that, its more important than ever TO find the joy.Ā  Whether that’s lending a stranger a dollar, passing along a word of encouragement, or simply being a small light in the dark, I think its more important to share our joy.Ā  Working in live music sometimes feels like peddling escapism, but hey, "It's pure escapism is all it is," Jimmy Buffett said about the Parrothead movement. "I think it's really a part of the human condition that you've got to have some fun. You've got to get away from whatever you do to make a living or other parts of life that stress you out. I try to make it at least 50/50 fun to work and so far it's worked out." Fins Up.

Wishing an incredibly happy birthday to an incredibly awesome person. I've sincerely never met someone as driven, so community focused, or so passionate about what they do. I can't wait to keep spinning & dancing with you as you take your 29th trip around the sun <3

A few weeks late because the transition from 2025 to 2026 hit me like a freight train & I've only recently stopped "well, you know, with the holidays and all" as an excuse in emails. We're not 100% sure on if it started in 2017, when I transferred to Arcadia, or 2018, when we had just started debating whether or not we would cut it as RAs at the college, but the fact of the matter is that Ryan and I have been schleping from Philadelphia to Pittsburgh for coming up to a decade. This year, we even had the pleasure of watching a Mike Tomlin & Aaron Rodgers led offense lead us to victory in what was definitely their final game of the season (and not a depressing blow out loss to Houston) Pretty groovy stuff from a guy who's dad had to take him home early from Eagles games growing up because the crowd booing Terrel Owen's was so upsetting. (But I digress). We drove, we ate, we drank, we drove some more, we went skiing, we celebrated the New Year, and most of all, we drove some more. Cheers as always to Ryan for being a trooper and entertaining close to 20 hours of contiguous driving with me in pursuit of some good times, poutine, & adventure. (He tells me that most Germans in Munich are a great deal less "hippie-dippie," than me.

HIJINX!! What a crazy little weekend to (almost) ring in the New Year! My love hate relationship with the festival continues, but my love for dancing is unstoppable. Much love to every stranger I met in the crowd šŸ¤ŸšŸ–¤

Straight cheesin' at Hershey Park šŸ« Happy Thanksgiving y'all, incredibly grateful for everything the last year has brought & continues to bring. To many more Thanksgiving dinners that can't be beat, and to many more playings of 18 minute songs. (p.s. go birds 🦃)

I am persistently grateful to have a group of friends who remind me to STRETCH. (Largely because I've started to suspect I'll be dancing like this for many moons to come.) Submersion! What a neat little vacation & working experience to get to see Paradise Lakes Campground transformed from a laid-back hippie commune for jam bands at Beardfest to a jungle-gym of bass and dubstep this past weekend. Was an absolute blast from the past to be festing with not one, but TWO OG-Firefly Music Fest homies, and its been awesome to see @lindseygillyoga dip her toes into the crazy traveling circus that is the music festival scene. To many more hikes around this groovy little lake, @submersionfestival , I'll be seeing you again soon 🤟
