As far back as I can remember, I always wanted to be in a rock and roll band. This record is that band, distilled into 10 songs.
May Every Last Fever Break by Dave Hause… and the Mermaid 🧜♀️ seems a bit out of context for SteelPan but it’s a study and attempt to capture the emotion of a singer on a super personal song. Dave is a poet and artist on many levels. I almost didn’t do the instrumental call and response because those giant thoughtful gaps really let the feeling and emotions of the song sink in, but I also didn’t think anyone would watch me stand there for 4 seconds at a time without playing. #DaveHause #DaveHauseAndTheMermaid #SingerSongwriter #Folk #Punk

Now that the stardust has settled we can begin recapping a dream weekend; this way we know it actually happened. This year’s Sing Us Home transcended what our hopes and dreams were at the start of this wild and winding journey. Thanks to our all star team for coming together and making every link in the chain stronger every year. There are so many people involved in this thing that work themselves into a pulp so we can all put a core memory riddled weekend on the books. So grateful for the village we have built together and for everyone who has believed this tradition to life. Love you all so much
